Wildcrust creates wood-fired sourdough pizza with a 48-hour fermented dough, combining traditional Neapolitan techniques with flavors from around the world, curated by Chef Miles Okabayashi. At the heart of Wildcrust is a communal dining experience, rooted in our beginnings as a backyard pop-up, where we valued the importance of shared moments around the table. Our pizzas are crafted with artisanal flour and cheese imported from Italy, offering a fresh take on a classic. Beyond pizza, we feature an array of wood-fired fare, including Liberty duck, bone-in pork chop, and grilled seasonal vegetables. Paired with a curated selection of wine and beer, Wildcrust promises a dining experience that’s both comforting and elevated.

Wildcrust in Highland Park Is Los Angeles’s New Must-Try Pizza
Reviews
The wine selection complemented the food beautifully. They were also very accommodating when we needed to adjust our reservation time, which we appreciated.
Service struck the right balance—attentive without being overbearing. Claudia was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped make the experience even better.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered and will definitely be back.
if wildcrust is an example of the new places here then highland park’s future looks bright.
i came here to try the pizza and it did not disappoint. there are, i think, six or seven pizzas and they are all slightly bigger than personal sizes but ideal for sharing. get two and you can share among two or three people.
i went for the salame one which is more traditional but it has a slight kick to it, more flavor than heat. the crust was sourdough and i imagine it was either a coal- or wood-fired oven. thin crust, totally balanced and sublime.
angelina the GM came by to check on me and convinced me to try the meatballs. they did not disappoint either. they were crispy on the outside so i imagine they were probably baked and then put onto a grill after. whatever they did, there was a ton of flavor.
angelina is super warm and friendly and has a smile that makes you feel like an old friend.
the place has a great neighborly feel. parking is a little challenging but a small price to pay.
i will be back. what a cool find.
We enjoyed their meat balls, hamachi crudo and the signature Lamb tzatziki pizza, not to mention a whole lot of other delicious dishes on offer. Do not miss their famous fantastic Caesar salad with the perfect dressing, with the right amount of anchovies, flavoursome croutons and loads of fluffy Parmesan shaving to top it all off.
Their homemade pistachio
Tiramisu and strawberry sorbet was irresistible even after a BIG meal. Highly recommend!
The outdoor patio of Wildcrust is fabulous, vibey, and a local family vibe. Lots of artistic couples with their kids. We kicked off the meal with a watermelon salad which was very refreshing and tasty, the heirloom tomatoes in the salad were somewhat mid level in flavor. But that might not be the restaurant’s fault we are nearing the end of tomato season.
We also had the artichokes which our server mentioned were more antipasti style, and they were a miss. They did not mention that the artichokes were Smokey in flavor on the menu. We also ordered the meatballs and they fell apart immediately and the texture of them was soft and underdone. Key take away is that the more adventurous apps on the menu are not your best move here, go for the Caesar salad and pizza, maybe even the grilled items. We chose not to go for the grilled zucchini because we were told by the server that they use a vegan gelatin in the cheese emulsion sauce which sounded not so appetizing.
Next we moved on to the pizza which was solid, it reminded me a bit of the Roberta’s style pie. Small size pie but loaded with flavor, not quite at the level Roberta’s but enjoyable. Definitely will make a trip back here the wine list was expansive.
The food was to die for! We had the Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, burrata, Margherita pizza, and Funghi pizza — everything was absolutely incredible.
We’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you so much for making the night extra special, Wildcrust staff!
-duck croquettes (they take three days to make!)
-Caesar salad (the best Caesar in the greater Los Angeles area, could eat a bucket)
-duck breast (it is so hard to find duck in this city that is not grievously overcooked – this duck has a perfect crispy exterior and a perfect temperature inside)
-grilled cabbage (sleeper hit)
And as for pizza, if you’re a meat eater make sure you try the lamb pizza – it’s essentially a chef miles specialty.
Cute decor, attentive service, and excellent addition to a dinner rotation. Date idea- have oysters and drinks next door at Queen St and come here for dinner!
