Please note that there was approximately a one-hour wait when we arrived for brunch around 11:30 AM, so it’s advisable to be prepared for a wait if you don’t have a reservation. I’m not certain whether reservations are accepted. All in all its a must visit.
I ordered a custom skillet and upgraded my pancakes to the Signature Berry Bliss Pancakes, while my boyfriend ordered the Los Altos Benedict with a side of regular pancakes. My skillet was good, though the potatoes were a bit mushy and under-seasoned, and the dish overall was a little heavy on the cheese. The pancakes were delicious as always!
My boyfriend said his dish was good, though the sauce tasted a bit off. In all the hustle and bustle, we didn’t realize until near the end of our meal that his side of pancakes never arrived. I mentioned it to our waitress when paying, and she was very kind—apologized and took a couple dollars off our bill, which we appreciated.
We asked to split the check in half, and I was a bit surprised to see a 20% automatic tip added to each check. We’ve been here many times before, and while this visit was a bit more average compared to past experiences, the food and atmosphere still make it a favorite breakfast spot for us. I’m sure we’ll be back again in the future!
The food was so great! Definitely worth the visit, that’s for sure. We got the salted caramel crepes and the berry bliss pancakes, great portions so come hungry! They fill up pretty quickly right after they opened and I can see why!
We were made to wait outside in cold, windy weather and were not allowed to step inside to use the restroom while waiting. After being seated, we were asked to leave our table and go back outside until the rest of our party arrived, then reseated at a different booth. We had our baby with us, who sat on my lap the entire meal because there was no high chair or room for one.
Service was extremely slow. We waited a long time for drinks, received no refills, and no one checked on our table. We eventually had to ask a manager just to place our order. When the food arrived, it took a long time to receive syrup and butter, so the food was cold by then.
There is a note on the menu about a 20% gratuity for parties over five, which we missed at first. That said, there was also a 3.5% service fee added that we did not see clearly posted. This review is not about the cost. We always tip generously. It is about feeling unwelcome and dismissed throughout the entire experience.
The food itself was very good, which makes this experience even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the service and attitude from staff and management overshadowed what could have been a great meal.
Our server, whose name we didn’t catch, was delightful – attentive, kind, and made us feel welcome. Service was very fast. The banana cream pie pancakes were possibly the best specialty pancakes I have ever sampled. My boyfriend got the Denver omelette, as a skillet. And we also got the Mexicana skillet. All the food arrived hot, and was plated in an eye-catching way. We will definitely return.
