We came here after hiking to celebrate my sisters 30th. Our server was super sweet and helpful with everything. The food and drinks were amazing! My mom has a very much American taste palate and she was blown away by the ginger beef. I got that also and have been dreaming about it since (it’s been a month lol). If I lived in Canmore I’d be coming here all the time and next time I visit I’ll for sure be coming back to try more!!

We enjoyed a wonderful supper at Wild Orchid with delicious food and wonderful service. We tried a flight of premium sake which was a real treat and complimented the amazing lobster rolls, spicy salmon rolls and calamari. The 2 types of curry were tasty. The beef tapas was just ok. The treacherous pudding with ice cream was a fantastic dessert, presented beautifully. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very rare to find a place that is exclusively gluten free AND all the food is delicious. The menu rotates occasionally, the fresh fish is always good, and the food is always plated beautifully. We look forward to seeing our server and getting amazing mountain views off the patio. Definitely tucked away and off the beaten path, but we consider it a hidden gem

This restaurant is such a unique find, especially if you are celiac! There are so many delicious options that normally would not be available to those that are gluten-free. I highly recommend coming here with a big appetite so that you can try as much as possible!

Disappointed with the decline in quality – hoping it was just a bad night

I’ve always loved coming to Wild Orchid Bistro because, as someone with celiac disease, it’s amazing to eat everything on the menu without fear of cross-contamination. My husband and kids (who don’t have celiac) usually eat gluten-free with me and enjoy it just as much.

But unfortunately, our most recent visit — the second within a month — was really disappointing.

We had a 5pm reservation and were seated within 10 minutes, but the hostess/bartender just dropped the menus and walked off. It took another 5–10 minutes for a server to come take our drink order, so we ordered our food at the same time. Drinks came after 15 minutes, and food took over an hour to start arriving.

Yes, the restaurant was busy — especially for just opening at 4pm — but sadly, the food was a letdown. Most dishes were 5/10 at best: bland, lacking any seasoning (not even salt), and overwhelmed with oil — the edamame, tempura, fries, sauces — everything was drenched to the point of making us all feel unwell. Fried food is expected to be oily, but this was excessive.

The only standout was the tuna and salmon sashimi — super fresh and delicious. Everything else missed the mark.

And to top it off, four DEAD FLIES came out of the soy sauce bottle as I poured it — which was honestly just shocking. (Didn’t get a photo of that, unfortunately.)

I’m hoping this was just an off night. We’ve had great experiences here before, and I’d love to keep supporting this place — especially because safe gluten-free dining is hard to find. But this visit really missed the mark.

Fantastic experience for a celiac.
I was blown away by the variety and the flavours. The swordfish tapas dish was so good. The Asian street fries were out of this world! Everything was perfect. We will be back!!!

I came here because my friend has celiac disease, and she was really happy to find this place. The prices are quite reasonable, but just be aware that the portions are pretty small. For an adult woman, it takes about 2–3 plates to feel full, and for a man with a good appetite, around 3 plates. On the bright side, it’s great for sharing and trying a variety of dishes together.

This restaurant deserves 6 stars if I could give it!! First of all it’s all gluten free, we have a friend in our party who is Celiac and this is so amazing to be able to eat without any worry. The food is unbelievably good, honestly every dish was delicious. We’ve done a lot of high end restaurants and Michelin restaurants but this food was up there and one of my best meals! To add to that the service was friendly and attentive, you could see how much they cared and the pride they took in their restaurants! Can’t wait to visit again when we visit Canmore again!

Lovely to have celiac safe option in the Rockies! Even “normies” enjoy the goodness of their home made food. I love the calamari, veggie burger, sushi, ginger chicken…sake, cocktails. All done up in a cozy space with amazing mountain views. Prices are moderate, portions vary depending on the dish. Overall you can’t go wrong here.

WOW! I couldn’t believe finding a place with a completely gluten-free menu. My friends and I had so much fun sharing the dishes with each other… and they were all DELICIOUS! The view from the patio was beautiful as well, and our server was very friendly and sweet.
