I ordered the Persian Sun, sounded delightful. Imagine the disappointment to be served dry, thin slices of wheat bread, nary an eggwash to actually deem it “French toast” in sight, or taste. It seemed straight from a grocery store loaf covered in chunks of tough canned pineapple, despite claiming “fresh chopped” – there’s a discernible difference between the two. A slab of equally dry and tough ham dared to call itself breakfast.

The menu stated “cardamom-infused sesame tahini, topped with lemon honey syrup” though again, the flavors didn’t come through. At all. Seemed run-of-the-mill jarred tahini with a scant portion of runny, watered down honey on top. Womp-womp. A lack of cardamom and lemon in full.

Squishing into the crowded, stuffy place to wait and wait was no fun either. Save your money for something more satisfying, worth the wait that often accompanies the brunch crowd. Another review mentioned a “bad homemade” quality, and that’s exactly the summation of the meal I experienced, especially for the price.

Hmm, a look at a post on Yelp shows the Persian Sun as I expected it to be- thicker eggwashed French toast slices, a proper portion of honey syrup visible on the plate, and varied chunks of pineapple that actually look to be fresh. I’ll upload it for a side-by-side comparison. Having barely touched my meal, I expected the server to say something, but alas, no. Le sigh. On to the next!

We went to Wild Mountain Cafe for a brunch on a Saturday morning. It was crowded and we had to wait for 15 mins before getting a table. The vibe of this restaurant is very cozy. We ordered a Veggie Bennie and Buddha’s Happiness. Both were delicious! The service was quick. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly. Absolutely loved everything about this place. Will definitely be coming back to try more stuff soon!

I would give a 100 stars if I could! This place is phenomenal! Fantastic service, coffee, cinnamon rolls, cold brew with Ameretto, and Irish cream! Grace knew ALL about the menu, and explained how the home was made into a really cool restaurant/Cafe. They bake, and prep downstairs. My daughter got Jeremy jubilie, garlic potato cakes that melt in your mouth! With apple sausage, garlic, and zuke scramble. I got a Hawaii- 5 oh. Ham, Swiss, pinepple sandwich, and salad! BEST sandwich! I want to take everyone here, and show this place off! Great atmosphere! A great experience!

delicious garlic potato cakes! Got the Purdy Girl scramble. It was good but very wet and missing some flavors – the garden scramble was definitely missing flavor. Needs some herbs and spices in there. Was hoping the maple syrup would be the real stuff too…

Very good service and very sweet ambiance. I’d come back to give them another try. I really loved the charm of this place but I’m not sure what I’d order next time. Maybe black coffee and more garlic potatoes!

Please stop and have a meal here, but only if you are able to come back and/or can have the best meal of your life and then just never crave it again. The Hollandaise sauce they use for eggs Benedict is the best I’ve seen in decades, plus perfectly poached eggs. Then the Mac n cheese..wow. The Mac n cheese is customizable, I prefer onions and chicken sausage, but the base is extraordinary. It’s the next level of comfort food. Beware, the menu can cause decision paralysis. But it is worth it, and there really aren’t any wrong decisions.

Such a cute little restaurant on a peaceful neighborhood street in Ballard. I’ve only tried their breakfast items and every single one is exceptionally tasty! They happily make dietary adjustments without throwing a fuss. They have indoor and outdoor seating but very limited outdoor seating with I think just 2 tiny tables in the front for guests. This restaurant is literally inside a house and you would not know it without looking for it. My favorites are their South of the Border breakfast items. So fresh and yummy and you can tell that they use quality ingredients. I just wish they had an espresso machine to order London Fogs with my breakfast! Feels good to support a local restaurant that does a really good job in satisfying their customers!
