Beautiful view, we loved eating outside and enjoying the sunshine and mountains! Drinks were good and for the most part food was pretty good. The one thing is that the lobster roll, for being more of a Maine version had way too much celery and served on a thick roll that wasn’t so traditional. The rest of the meal was pretty good, it just took a long time to get our meal. When the servers were there they were super friendly and attentive!

Clean. Great views. The food was pretty great – Just had chips and queso with filet medallions. Service was great but they’re were only a few people working so wait times for drinks was a little slow but no problem, they were very kind. All around, great place!

After a long day in the park, we came here because it was close to the exit of the park. I get that bar food isn’t expected to be the same quality as the Ritz Carlton, but the food was bad. Everything was frozen and flavorless. Out waitress was terrible and after presenting the card reader (for the bill), stood there and watched me select the time, sign, etc. It was incredibly rude. The only redeeming quality was the local IPA I had. Will have to find some place else to eat while we are in Grand Lake.

Granted we was a ski lodge the door kept opening blowing cold air in. Seems like by now something could be done to control that. Our waitress was GREAT!! Just hate I don’t remember her name. She memorized 8 orders with a couple of them changing this and that. All came out correctly and a timely manner.

Cute decor, clean area. Plastic wrapped flatware on table with the one napkin. Couldn’t cut anything with the plastic knife though. Side of ranch comes packaged. Quesabirria tacos were super soggy. $6.50 a taco. Everyone else said their food was okay. Waited 30+ minutes for the check. Might have been an off day.

Response to business reply: I’m a local to GL…but okay, whatever you say.

We come to Grand Lake every year, and Wild Bear is how we spend our evenings in town. Along with the food being delicious and the stunning view of the mountains, Gabby is really what made the trip special for us this year. Legitimately, Google needs a 6th star option for her (6 out of 5, will be back again!) There was also a guy who was helping with the table fire pits last night, and he started up the sauna for my wife and I while we were out in the hot tub (it was like 30F out, and he was helping us not freeze by getting the room warm.) I hate to say “the service was great” – that feels like a cheap compliment in this case. We had a very genuine experience this year, and people like them are what makes Wild Bear and the Inn a large part of why we love Grand Lake. Also for anyone reading this, definitely order the brussel sprouts if they’re you’re thing.

It is a great venue for small house concerts. Peggy Mann was amazing as usual. The service, food, and drinks were amazing. The view of Mount Baldy behind Peggy was so impressive and majestic. Tell them Wade Carter from Oklahoma City sent you.

With the limited selection of locations in Grand Lake to choose from later in the evening, our only real option was Wild Bear Tavern. Nothing particular exotic or unusual on the menu. Rather busy and noisy environment and reasonably standard fair in terms of food options. We did have to chase up the waiter after about 45 minutes as no food had arrived, then magically it appeared a few minutes later. When the food came it was good portion and reasonably tasty.

Avoid unless you are a Local! I arrived before 5pm intending to have a couple drinks and dinner. I sat at the bar and ordered the $20 Old Fashioned. The locals began arriving around 5:30 and I sat with an empty glass for almost a half hour. The bartenders passed by me a dozen or more times but never offered a refill. They were busy making drinks for the new arrivals, often, right in front of me. There are many more welcoming and professional places in Grand Lake to patronize – go there!

Food was good, though pricey. Service was decent, though the servers were definitely overwhelmed. The atmosphere was great!
