Wig and Pen is absolutely amazing. Not just for Iowa, but it punches as high as Chicago pizza. This place has the best Mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had, they are huge. Cheese pull a foot long. I got a Crab Rangoon pizza, because the lady behind the counter suggested it, and it did not disappoint.
The atmosphere is really cool, perfect ambience. And the young lady behind the bar was so kind. Honestly this is a great place just to chill drinking a Guinness.

Wig & Pen Pizza in Iowa City did not disappoint! We ordered a deep dish pizza with peppers, mushrooms, and sausage, and it was absolutely delicious—loaded with toppings and baked perfectly. We also tried the hot club sandwich and would highly recommend that as well.
Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. It’s easy to see why this place is such a favorite in Iowa City. If you’re looking for great pizza and a solid menu with something for everyone, Wig & Pen is a must-try!

Dine in 5 stars, take out 1 star. We have never had a bad experience on dine-in, the staff have been great, food is good. Take out has been bad more than a few times and this time prob the last.
As a business, you’re not supposed to make Leo Getz famous line a reality, even though they don’t tech have a drive thru .
If this would have come out in the dining room someone prob would have been fired, or maybe should be. So why is it expectable for takeout?? I sent an email with no response as well so that’s even more disappointing. Check your food at the bar before ya leave (like we should have)and don’t pay the high prices for .

If you’re looking for consistently great pizza and genuinely warm service, Wig and Pen delivers every time. The ladies who answered the phone were absolute dolls—so friendly and welcoming from the first call. When I arrived to pick up my pizza, I was greeted right away and helped promptly at checkout with the same upbeat attitude.
And the pizza? Scrumptious as usual. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. Great food and even better customer service—Wig and Pen for the win!

I’m from out of town, and am in Iowa City for one night. I turned to the internet for advice on where to go for pizza. This is how I found the Wig and Pen. I had a hard time believing that a British themed restaurant could make decent pizza but I’m so glad I tried it! I got a basic thin crust with sausage and mushroom. It was amazing. Fantastic sauce. Lots of toppings. Crispy crust. And, the service was quick. This is obviously not a well kept secret either since the place was packed!

You can’t go wrong with a stop at Wig and Pen. They have been around for almost 40 years, but their quality remains or is even better than ever. It’s a perfect spot to stop before or after a game, but the pizza easily stands on its own regardless of when you go. If you haven’t been here or if it’s been awhile, do yourself a favor and stop by!

The food is always amazing. They have four styles of pizza. Thin crust, Flying Tomato, and Mannheim style. While their pizza is their flagship of choices. They have a bruschetta that is one of our top three. They have a great selection of items on the menu. The main thing is that unless you’ve been here, don’t over order. Yes, you typically see everyone walking out with pizza and doggies bags. You definitely get your money’s worth.
The Service; Mannheim, was our waitress slammed with tables! She didn’t show, though. We had a menus, and our drinks came within a minute. Our appetizers came out piping hot. She had our refills when we needed them.
The Atmosphere; we were a party of five, not always easy to sit in a booth. Not at the Wig & Pen – their booths comfortably seat all of us. The layout has a lot of great spots.
Overall, we have been here multiple times at various times of the day. We have always had a great time.

An Iowa City classic! Delicious pasta and pizza, plus some pub favorites. I recently ordered a calzone and wasn’t blown away. But other times I have gone, I’ve gotten pizza and it is Awesome! Atmosphere is great. Service was exceptional. It’s a must-go for locals and visitors alike.

Amazing food. Literally the best pizza I’ve ever had. Great variety of toppings, and types of crust. I got the calzone, and it was perfect. Appetizers were massive about the size of an entree at other restaurants. So all of us got plenty to eat. Waitress was equally impressive. She didn’t even need to write down our order. She memorized everything, and didn’t forget a single detail. She was always on top of drink refills, and quick about getting us to go boxes. So happy I get to eat my leftovers for my next few meals.
Place also had a poke stop on site. So it made waiting for my food less annoying. If I could rate this place 10 stars out of five I would.
