Really disappointed. The food had zero seasoning/flavor. The okra was the best part. The macaroni was really watery and the 2 chicken pieces they gave me were tiny wings that were burnt and had almost no meat. The girl working was incredibly patient and sweet- unlike the sweet tea which tasted like watered down caffeine water. My first time visiting in 13 years and will for sure be my last.

We always enjoy coming here. The chicken is tasty, love the Mac ‘n cheese, and the broccoli casserole is another favorite. The fried pork chops are scrumptious & tender as well, without being dry or over seasoned.

Would come again: Yes!

I think Wife Saver is the best place to get fried chicken in Augusta! Their chicken strips are superb, and their honey mustard sauce is amazing. Their sides are great too, especially the Mac and cheese and cabbage. They are not very expensive either. I highly recommend and would definitely get food from there again!

Love the food here! Whenever I come down I have to get my hometown favorite! This one and the one off North Leg in Augusta are the best. The pork chops are a must!

Mr. Connor was great at the drive thru, nice and appropriate with his service to myself and others who he served. The catfish special I ordered was very good and my sides were also good- Mac (not pictured) and fried okra. Thanks

Overall, WifeSaver North Augusta has HORRIBLE managers when i decided to eat with my family there was this woman named Mrs. Andy. As I was getting my food bagged I saw her screaming at her employees and by the looks of it, they looked pretty young which is something I don’t want to see she was also disrespectful to me.

Ordered a veggie plate last night, I won’t be making that mistake again. The broccoli casserole either wasn’t cooked or it had twigs in it, the fries were hard & tasted cooked twice or microwaved, & the cole slaw tastes like cabbage soaked in pickle juice. So disappointing, but I learned my lesson

I ordered from the drive thru and received my wrong item after telling the lady two times. Drive off and came right back thru drive thru a new said where your plate I showed her. She close the window and was gone with my plate for minutes. Scraping out the turnip green. Never go back to this location.

This particular Wife Saver has character, meaning it is old, perhaps the first, maybe opened in 1965 if I were pulling “the clues” together correctly. I prefer this old type charm much better than the ultra modern look in newer fast food restaurants these days. This place was very clean even in its old age… 😉
Now, what gets me about any of the Wife Saver restaurants is how spot on they can be with the chicken, including livers and gizzards, vs. how sometimes they aren’t to a level where you don’t finish the chicken part of the meal. Not sure if it is due to “more used” frying oil or whatever else, but there is a very noticeable difference. Enough to where based on one meal/catering I’d recommend highly to all, and other times(same restaurant) I’d tell folk to seek somewhere else to eat.
This chain has “southern home-cooked food” but served up in a fashion of quickness like all the fast-food chains.
Yesterday’s chicken here was so-so, but the sides were very good.
So, if you go as a first-timer, and if you are somewhat disappointed on the first visit, give them a second chance… When they are spot-on, they win hands down over the other chicken based fast-food restaurants.
