I wanted to LOVE the fish fry but its just Ehh… the fish was good. Great flavor & crisp. Now the sides… As much as people talk this place up… Where are the homemade sides?! Legit all the sides are pre-made. Now if you are OK with that then you will LOVE the fish fry..The crinkle cut frys had ZERO salt so those BLAHH.. For the price I will pass. Not worth all the hype!

I love Wiechecs fish fry. Haven’t had it in a few years. While I enjoyed it I wasn’t thrilled with the potato or macaroni salad. It’s not the same. They also changed their tarter sauce. They use Kens premade tarter now however, I thoroughly enjoyed the fish, fries and coleslaw. The atmosphere remains the same. Love it.

Excellent fish fry and they offer it most days. Our server mentioned that on days other than Friday, it’s a special and usually offered until 8pm. Luckily for us, it was still available at 8:30. The beer battered fish was excellent and served with a mountain of sides. Fries, coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad and rye bread were on the plate. Everything tasted fresh. I normally avoid mac salad but I actually enjoyed the version at Wiechec’s. Our server was friendly and efficient. I’ll happily go out of my way to come back here.

My current favorite place to order fish fry takeout from. The sides can be hit or miss, the potato salad was kinda weird this time. Which is why I have to give it four stars. But the fish is almost always perfect.

Best burger I’ve had in a while. Juicy and not overcooked and seasoned perfectly. Roast beef, gravy, and fries are so delicious. Friendly servers, large bar area, and eating area.

Cannot say enough good things about the food here. Everything is good! I live in Colorado now and this is the only fish fry I will eat when I come home. The bar is another place I usually find myself when I come back into town. Great group of people that work there and hang out. It’s never a disappointment.

Was home this week and asked “where’s the best Fish Fry in Buffalo?” It was all Wiechec’s.
A WHALE on a plate!!!! When they start hitting the table the reactions are priceless and the phones come out for a picture.
A classic Buffalo tradition done to perfection, blown up to Texas-sized proportions, dipped in batter, and fried to crispy crunchy deliciousness!
I grew up running around Kaisertown and never ate here way back then. Glad I fixed that!
My only teeny tiny complaint is the tartar sauce. Ken’s individual sized cups, do not deserve to be put on this fish fry.
