Absolutely amazing and delicious dinner at Wickie’s!! They were fully booked for the evening, but we were able to grab seats at a high-top railing outside. I definitely recommend making reservations.
After a disappointing dinner at Doc Ford’s the night before, this was such a welcome surprise. The food was absolutely delicious, you can truly tell everything is made from scratch. I’ve heard the restaurant is fairly new and is a collaboration between two owners from former island restaurants that closed due to fire and hurricane damage, which makes it even more special to support.
We started with the garlic shrimp and fried green tomatoes. I’m not usually a fan of green tomatoes, but wow these were incredible! For dinner, we had the grouper tacos and the grouper entrée over risotto. It typically comes with mashed potatoes, but they were happy to let us substitute any side, so I chose the coconut risotto—divine! I ordered my grouper blackened, and the seasoning was perfect and full of flavor.
For dessert, I had the key lime pie, which was clearly homemade and so good—honestly one of the best slices I’ve ever had. We also tried the espresso crème brûlée, which was fresh, flavorful, and delicious.
Our server, Emily, was amazing. She was friendly, personable, and truly a joy. She made us feel so welcomed and well taken care of. I highly, highly recommend Wickie’s!!

This was amazing! If you loved Mad Hatter restaurant which sadly was lost in the hurricane… They are back at wickies with the mad hatter chef and some of mad Hatter‘s signature entrées…. gourmet food in a casual setting…Robin is the absolute best server…. this will definitely be one of our destinations every time we visit Sanibel

We had lunch at Wickies Lighthouse Restaurant and enjoyed a pleasant island-style experience. We ordered a salad and the Chicken Caprese, and both dishes were well prepared and tasted good. The food did take a while to arrive, which slightly impacted the experience. Apart from that, the service was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. The relaxed setting and laid-back island vibe really add to the overall charm, and it’s a perfect place to visit by bicycle, especially when exploring Sanibel.

✨ Wow, what an amazingly quaint, little island stop! Our brunch was outstanding!! We enjoyed made to order omelets with homemade biscuits & jam along with perfectly sautéed potatoes. Sooo delicious & fresh!! Heidi made us the best Bloody Mary & Spicy Margarita. We would love to go back for dinner, as that menu looked equally as tasty. Wickies was easy to find by bike and by car as well. We heard it is a mix of The Mad Hatter & Island Cow…this is a spectacular combination!! Best of luck, and looking forward to our next biking stop. Anyone questioning this choice? Go for it & enjoy! ✨

Our party of six had a great dining experience. Our wait for a table was relatively brief. We sat outside as per preference in nice post-Christmas weather.
Our waiter was Mark. He was attentive, friendly and engaging with us in conversation. In a word, exceptional service.
We had the green fried tomatoes and conch fritters for appetizers. They were very nice. Our entrees included the shrimp and grits, a strip steak, black grouper with garlic mashed potatoes (I substituted coconut risotto), and short ribs (2 ribs). All reported great satisfaction. Food presentation was good as well.

What a treasure! Easy to see how Wickies earned the award for best new business on the island for 2025. Delicious in all ways! The staff, the FOOD, my tasty Caramel Manhattan, yum! The owners have created a spot you ought not miss on any trip you take to Sanibel! Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and full bar, there is something for everyone. Along with my Manhattan, I enjoyed a personal sized Caesar salad, with shaved Parmesan. Mmm. And I chose the Chef Special of Black Grouper, Risotto, and Asparagus, all with flavorful sauces.
Regarding noise level, inside would be moderate noise, and outdoor on the patio was quiet and easy to talk.
Regarding price per person, my ticket was high due to an alcoholic beverage and the chef’s special. Many other delicious looking choices are available in the $25-$50 range for dinner. Don’t miss in 2026!

I learned this restaurant was the combination of two claimed by hurricane Ian. If you remember the Mad Hatter and the Island cow, this place was born out of the destruction of those two. Food was great. Staff was great. It was small and crowded but it was delicious!!

Referred by others on the island as upscale dining but you can dine casually. However, the food did live up to expectations. We ordered conch fritters as an appetizer and they came out fried and delicious. Next, the server brought out my blackened grouper smothered in butter and placed on top of mashed potatoes. Despite it drenched in butter, it didn’t taste salty or overly buttery. I liked the combo of fish and mashed potatoes and left a clean plate. Lastly, we had the key lime pie for dessert drizzled with a green simple syrup. Fantastic item. Would order the pie by itself.

We started with the shrimp appetizer which was amazing!! The braised short ribs with the horseradish and Parmesan grits is honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. My husband had the stuffed lobster which was outstanding as well. Great drinks and the service was fantastic!
