On Tuesday (11/25), my daughter and I walked about 20ish mins from Coral Beach Resort & Suites to Wicked Tuna @ 2nd Ave Pier for a light dinner.
We went straight up the stairs to access the rooftop seating and were immediately sat at a window table overlooking the pier—spectacular view!
We split a dozen raw oysters, the Bang Bang Grouper, and a Tiramisu.
While the size of the oysters were smaller than expected, they were very fresh and delicious nonetheless.
The grouper was PHENOMENAL!!! So fresh and delectable my daughter didn’t even realize we were eating fish
The tiramisu was a decent portion size and not too heavy…perfect for sharing!
Ivan was our friendly server and knowledgeable when answering my menu questions.
Go for the views and stay for the food…especially the Bang Bang Grouper—I’ve been telling anyone who will listen all about it

Server was disinterested. The food was fresh and delicious. I order the catch of the day sandwich (grouper) it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The filet was very small (see first picture), after asking if that was a normal sized filet I was brought another filet almost double the size (see second picture). Both were prepared nicely. My wife order the shrimp po boy which looked great (non pictured). Both sandwiches were bread heavy. The fries were amazing. Overall great view and decent food, indifferent service.

Location was great. Overlooking the ocean and pier. With this review, keep in mind this was not peak season and there was only about 10 people in the restaurant. So it’s not like they were busy. Food had potential but fell short. All plates came out lukewarm at best. Clearly looked like they sat under a warmer for some time before making it out. Didn’t ask to have it reheated because that’s not going to work with seafood. As for the taste itself, it was OK. The server was OK. Seems to be more interested in being in the empty part of the restaurant on his phone than ensuring the food came out timely to be hot as well as the follow-ups.
Again the place had potential. But for the cost, everything should have been better. Maybe your experience will be better but with 100’s of other options, we’ll be trying other places before coming back again.

Normally, we love this place, however, we visited in December and we were scammed. We were there for happy hour and the bill came out to 136.00, however, when I checked my bank account later that week, we were charged 256.00!!!! We tried to dispute it, however, we couldn’t find our receipt. The food that night was definitely not worth $256.00. The nachos that I got even had salsa that had gone bad. The salsa tasted acidic. I’m surprised I didn’t get sick. I know they were about to close for the season, so maybe our waitress was trying to get an extra $100 tip since she would be out of work . So, I hate that we were scammed because we actually love coming to wicked Tuna. The ocean front view, the good food….I know that this was probably an isolated situation of wait staff needing extra money, however, the next time we visit, we will definitely make sure we pay with cash so that we are not scammed again. Just beware, and perhaps bring cash so that you are not scammed by the waitstaff.

Wicked Tuna offers a great atmosphere with ocean views and live music that adds just the right touch. Service was prompt and attentive, and the food was thoughtfully prepared — both in presentation and flavor. The bang bang grouper, crab cake dinner, and the catch of the day piccata are definitely worth trying. (Sushi is great too!) Staff were accommodating, especially with young kids who need high chairs. The photographer was very respectful and courteous, and we purchased the photos to share with friends and family. Overall, a well-executed dining experience in a great setting. Will come back next time!

If you’re nearby, you have to check this spot out during sunset. The oysters are so good and reasonably priced. Happy hour prices are good but you have to sit at the bar.

Excellent Food, Views & Experience….the only reason didn’t give 5 stars is for the price point, my fresh catch of the day entree could have more food. It was enough for me, but as a woman who eats less, the portion should have been larger, especially for that price point. We ordered Grilled Grouper, Fish & Chips & ordered Spicy Tuna roll sushi as an appetizer.
