Whole in the Wall is the definition of cozy, welcoming dining in Binghamton. The warm atmosphere pairs perfectly with their fresh, homemade food.
The Mediterranean platter was vibrant and flavorful crisp falafel, creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, and refreshing tzatziki with fresh veggies. The scallops were beautifully seared and served with tender mushrooms in a rich, buttery sauce. Even the fried broccoli were light and crispy, and the mushroom soup was creamy and comforting. The garlic roll? Warm, buttery, and unforgettable.
Whether you’re craving something hearty or something fresh, Whole in the Wall delivers delicious, feel-good food every time. A true local gem.

I’m a long time southside resident, never eat at chain restaurants, but also never tried The Whole In The Wall Restaurant. Man have we been missing out. Eliot put a FB post out and I read it on Fri morning, we picked the spot for dinner and it didnt disappoint! I had the special enchilada, the taste matched the presentation! All the flavors blended perfectly. My wife had the scallops and she thoroughly enjoyed them as well! We also did cups of the mushroom soup, top 1 or 2 in the area for sure!
Eliot also made a point to come out and introduce himself, discuss some of the ingredients and crawl under the table to fix the wobble. There is nothing this guy cant do!
We didn’t walk out of there stuffed like some other dinners, but rather perfectly full! I’ll take quality over quantity every day!
Stop in and show them some love!

This is the cutest place ever. After we ate, one of the chefs asked how we liked it, and then he told us we were sitting next to where his grandmother’s bowl was hanging that she brought back from Vienna in the 1940’s. He was so kind and the food was SO amazing. Everything is a 1000000/10.

We ordered four containers of pesto (spinach, red pepper, sun dried tomato and basil), the baba Ghanouj platter from the catering menu, steamed vegetables with both tofu and tempeh, and a chicken pocket. I had told the owner that we were ordering for Shabbat and he called me back later asking me if we wanted him to defrost the pestos as they come frozen which was so considerate of him! He also gave us a free loaf of bread to celebrate with, it was very beautiful. The food was delicious- the pesto had real pine nuts which was such a delight. The baba ghanouj was simply delightful everything was perfect! Everyone had their own favorite pesto. Whole in a Wall went above and beyond to make our night fantastic! If you want to support kind people, a fantastic local business with great ethics and values (IE stone soup), and get some DELICIOUS food while you’re at it, definitely go to Whole in a Wall! You won’t be disappointed. Such a wonderful part of the Binghamton community.

An unusual little restaurant where the food is just the beginning of the attraction. A wonderful ambiance and lots of interesting history on the walls. Portion sizes are adequate but less large than at many other places don’t hesitate to err on the side of a few sides. Finally don’t expect the chef to share his secrets! You only get to enjoy them on your plate.

Just went there a couple nights with my son and we loved the food and atmosphere. Quiet chill relaxing place. Great homemade food by the legend himself – Eliot Fiks. He’s been a cooking force for 42 years with farm to table fresh food approach.
My favorite meals are pesto pasta, the pita pocket sandwiches, mushroom soup, shrimp scampi and love love the babaganoush appetizer. My first time there was on opening night 1980 and 42 years later Eliot still rocks. Definitely always ahead of his times.
Make reservations or call to get a table for a tasty meal on a Friday or Saturday. Support local for a tasty homemade meal.

This place is a gem!!! The food is made with a lot of care and the flavors were delicious. The hummus was extremely fresh, the falafel was not overly breaded and had fantastic flavor. The chicken fingers were crunchy and perfectly tender inside. The steamed vegetables with chicken and tofu were also flavored perfectly and had a nice sauce accompanying it. The service was terrific. You can tell they put a lot of pride into the food they make! Will definitely be returning. It’s just a few steps from a EV fast charger and definitely worth the stop!!!

Everything was so yummy and the vibes in there were so great. Afterwards the owner mentioned that we were sitting next to his grandmothers bowl from Vienna and we had already read the note above it. Amazing service and food 10/10 recommend.

The enchilada is the best with a little bit of spice and the peanut butter pie is so good for dessert, we even brought some home for later. Amazing staff too!
