Food was good here and plentiful. The fries were good as was the coleslaw. Most of the burnt ends were very good but there was a portion of them that were dry and very tough, that being said I’d probably order them again.

Maybe they were having a bad night, but my brisket was so salty, dry, and tough that I couldn’t eat it. And the sauce tasted like ketchup. My friend liked her baked potato, and later the dogs enjoyed the brisket. I rated the atmosphere based on a visit from before when they were out of everything i wanted so I hadn’t tried the food. Typical barbecue restaurant feel.

I’ve been all over from Alabama to Louisiana to Oklahoma and Texas and have to say this is the best barbecue I have ever had and I’m not big on barbecue spots……… This spot is awesome. Give them a try promise you won’t be disappointed!!!!! Thanks for your wonderful service and even better barbecue

Staff is always friendly. The place was decently dirty, and the food was over salty. Four in our party and got turkey, pulled pork, and sliced brisket. Good flavor, but brisket was tough and had to be cut with a knife. Usually all you need are teeth and maybe a fork. Slaw always tastes kind of old and not very crisp or cold.

I’ve been going here for over 10 years but the last few months has been terrible food. A month ago I got the pulled pork and it was just fat and burnt pieces (totally inedible) called to tell them and they replaced it the next time I came in at no charge. Tonight I get the pulled pork again(takeout) get home and open it up and the bigger pieces have been sliced with a knife because it was so tough there’s no way you would ever consider it pulled pork. They have lost a long time customer for good this time! The taste of it was just some seasoning they’d put on it, no smoke flavor at all. I’m really disappointed because I fought the traffic from Lowell to go get it.

I went in for dinner last night, and got the two meat plate. I got the beef brisket, and pulled chicken, and I got beans and potato salad for my two sides. I’ve been coming here for years, and always get the sliced brisket, but last night when I got my plate it was all chopped. There were chopped up tiny squares of fat in my brisket, which made it very unappealing. The chicken was very dry, not at all like what I’ve been use to over the years. Speaking of dry, the beans were not good at all. They looked like they had been sitting inside an oven all day, and I guess according to the sign on the door, they are under new ownership, and I guess they put, what I assume is pork into their beans now. They just don’t look great anymore. The potato salad was great as it always has been. The food quality just seems to have gone down since the last time I came in. I probably won’t be coming back again.

I have eaten here on my many other visits to Fayetteville. NEVER was the food as absolutely horrible as it was tonight. The Mac and cheese was like cold, yellow glue. The ribs were ice cold, and I mean ice cold. We were given replacement orders of ribs, they weren’t much better. While minimally warmer, they were overcooked, dry as a bone–stale? old? The product of repetitive reheatings? Sorely disappointed. If I could give this less than 1 star I would. I certainly hope that this has not become the new norm.

I placed an order for 25 people this morning for Whole Hog on Door Dash to pick up by noon. I paid and when I got there I was told they don’t use Door Dash and they didn’t have my order. I was flustered and frustrated that Door Dash would take the order and my almost $300.00 when Whole Hog doesn’t even use Door Dash.Thankfully Whole Hog was able to fill my order immediately and I still received great food. I appreciate the quick work and understanding they gave me. The food was very good and the lunch meeting was a success. Plus my food was about $50.00 cheaper going straight to Whole Hog.

Adding a star (from one to two) to this initial review due to the owner reaching out apologizing and letting us know this location is under new management. We are going to try it again due to this type of customer service. Will rewrite this review when we give it another try.
