I finally got to try burnt ends and brisket in the US and it was amazing. The burnt ends was so juicy and had just the right amount of fat – there‘s a sign at the front to let you know whether there are any available that day so if you have the chance, I would highly recommend!
I was surprised at dinner rolls being sweet in the US – a bit like a brioche so a small warning for non-Americans.
Collard greens was also a first and was on the saltier/spicier side than expected. If you want to taste the different meats and bbq sauces, I would recommend against getting the collard greens as the taste stays on your tongue for a while.
Overall great experience and would love to go again!

Whole Hog Cafe BBQ is absolutely amazing! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The barbecue is tender and smoky, the sides are delicious, and the staff is friendly and welcoming every time I go in. The atmosphere is relaxed and makes it a great place to enjoy a meal with family and friends.

One thing I really appreciate is that I can enjoy catfish there during Lent. Since many people avoid meat on Fridays during Lent, their crispy, perfectly seasoned catfish is a great option. It’s cooked just right — golden on the outside and tender on the inside — and pairs perfectly with their classic sides. It makes it easy to stick to Lent traditions without missing out on a great meal. Highly recommend!

I don’t know what they put in there special catfish sauce but it’s amazing!

Food was horrible. Bbq pulled pork had no seasonings, beaked beans was nasty tasted more like bbq sauce, Coleslaw 0/10. No lunch specials. I paid $20 for just that. Disappointed. Will not return. 1st time here and my last.

When we’re craving BBQ, we are willing to drive wherever we need to for great BBQ. We’ve tried so many places but this was our first time at Whole Hog Cafe. My family loved it! The portions are huge, the food is hot, fresh and tasty and the sauces are delicious! I really loved my brisket meal with Mac and cheese! It was so tender, and I put a generous amount of the #5 bbq sauce on it, which was smokey and a little sweet from the molasses. So good! My kid enjoyed a kids meal of two meaty ribs with a side and the other had pulled pork. My husband loved his whole rack of ribs with a side of burnt ends. This will definitely be on our list of place to return to when we are craving BBQ!

Went here many times before and then not for a while 2/9/25 came back for ribs for the Super Bowl. The rack was a smidge small but meaty and delicious. The burnt ends were very good here. Staff was hustling and they were closing at 630p since it was the big game! The beans and cole slaw were good too. Love their Mac n cheese

I had the chopped brisket platter, mac and cheese, potato salad with corn bread. It was reasonably priced with plenty of food. The brisket was great combined with 6 different sauces you can choose from. I recommend #3 bold and spicy and #4 tangy vinegar. The mac and cheese was good with the right portion of pasta to cheese. The potato salad was so cold and bland so I would opt for something else like the french fries. Unfortunately, the corn bread was very dry. When I went to pick it up, it crumbled in my hand. There was also an up charge of $1 so it definitely not worth it. While we were eating we noticed a fly buzzing around us but I shrugged it off because it does happen. I wanted to enjoy my brisket and sweet tea.

However, this was some foreshadowing because when we went to discard our tray of food, the trash can area had a swarm of flies around it. This means they don’t clean the trash bins daily. I hate to imagine what the back kitchen is like after closing and nighttime. If I saw this before I ordered, I would have left immediately.

I also worry about ordering catering if the front room is dirty and unkept. This is totally unacceptable and avoidable. It was a Sunday afternoon so maybe the Saturday closing shift rushed out without cleaning the restaraunt properly. However with the amount of flies, it just wasn’t a one night problem.

With all things considered, I would not come back to eat here. I grew up in the south and love my bbq and sweet tea. However, the cleanliness was a deal breaker even though the brisket was wonderful.

We have not had a bad meal here yet. From the baked potato to the rack of ribs and everything in between. Go often, try different things – do the tender plate with 2 sides; rack of baby backs with fries; smoked turkey sandwich; burnt ends (if they don’t run out) are delicious! You don’t know what you’re missing – get in the car and drive over to Whole Hog for some great BBQ

I rate this very highly due to the area I live in, NJ USA is not known for amazing bbq so this rates very high for me.
The staff are friendly and the food is made quickly.
If you choose to eat in, you’ll site in the restaurant surrounded by TV’s full of sports shoes and past BBQ competition awards.
Honestly the atmosphere was great as it really brings a BBQ place close to NJ and allows you to try this whole carnivore vibe from a state that is not known for any culinary prowess outside of high quality produce and Italian American food.

Its closest rival is the mission bbq which I think this smaller Homer vibe hits much higher. I wanted to finish by saying everyone i know goes on about raisin caines chicken tenders honestly this place has the best tenders I have ever had.

So this is a very strong recommendation from me along with brisket and the fries. Do not miss this if you are in the area.

I found this place by Googling ‘Salads near me.’ and man am I glad I came here!! I got the Southwestern Salad & added chicken. Which is SMOKED! So so good. It was a warm day so the side windows were open. Staff was great. Tables were clean. Perfect spot for a great meal.

Numerous BBQ/Smoked meat selections on the menu. A large menu board on the wall behind the counter lists all selections, sides, and drink options. Once you order, you are given a table number- the food is brought to you. Service was quick and really friendly. I had a Ceasar salad with smoked chicken, and was thrilled with the amount of chicken given. My dining partner had a rib platter- all platters come with corn bread and two sides such as potato salad, coleslaw, and other choices. He did wish there was more meat on the ribs, but was pleased with the taste. Six BBQ sauces are at each table or high-top.
