We had heard about this restaurant and decided to stop for lunch. The food was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. There’s plenty of inside and outside seating. The connected gas station has a great souvenir shop where you can grab something to remember your trip by. I bought a HWY 395 sticker. The outside seating has a great view of Mono Lake.

Best gas station tacos east of Sierra. Period! They have vegetarian chili. Who does vegetarian chili ? The corn bread was moist though.
The fish tacos had less fish more salsa but it’s ok, they doing best with the fish they get. There is ample parking and the location is convenient.
The decor is old western themed with lots of horse motifs. Food’s served fast and wait times are minimum. There is seating indoor and outdoors.
You can and should buy camping stuff here if this is your last stop before entering Yosemite.
Let me know if you find Nellie

I have been to this restaurant several times before on my way to Yosemite. It seems weird a little bit too be rating a gas station but they have some of the best sandwiches and carrot cake there. If you’re on 395 near Yosemite, it’s a must stop.

Stopped here during our cross-country trip! The portions were massive, especially the “world famous fish tacos”—seriously, they were huge. While the food lacked a bit of flavor, the fries totally stole the show—crispy, golden, and delicious! Great views from the seating area, and they even have overflow and large vehicle parking, which is perfect for RVs and vans. A solid stop if you’re hungry and passing through!

Though the restaurant leans in the pricey side in my opinion, I had a great experience! I ordered the fish tacos – the mango salsa is DELICIOUS.
Despite being attached to a gas station, it still has the feel of a sit down restaurant and has both indoor and outdoor seating. There’s also some fun merch and goodies (along with other typical convenience store offerings) inside.

A classic place to eat and what a treat to find in a gas station. Food is tasty, a goto place for the Eastern Sierra. Nice selection, fast service and friendly staff. A must place to visit in the area.

A great little burger/sandwich joint just off HWY 395. Although pricey, it’s a great chance to grab something to bring into Yosemite National Park or after leaving the park. The food isn’t bad.
There is plenty of seating inside and outside to enjoy your meal.
Parking can be tricky. While there is some parking available in the lot, this is a popular stop during the summer and the lit gets full. Also, you may have to deal with oversized vehicles like RVs and trailers. There is parking also out on the street.

Stopped by Whoa Nellie Deli near Mono Lake and finally got to try their famous fish tacos—and yeah, they absolutely live up to the hype. One came topped with a sweet mango salsa that was honestly perfect—super fresh and added the right amount of brightness. The other had a slaw that brought some crunch and balance to the fried fish. Everything was stacked with flavor, and the portion was solid too. We sat outside and had a great view while eating, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area.

This place it legit! Would have given it 6 stars if I could. Maybe it was the food in Yosemite for several days, but I think the carnitas tacos were the best I’ve have. Lots of flavor in the black beans and the salsa was fresh and yummy with a little kick.
