The food is the real deal too. They do not use frozen patties here. Everything is hand-pressed and fresh. If you go, you have to try the Whizz-Pigg. It is a 50/50 blend of beef and bacon ground together, and it is easily one of the best burgers in town.
Just a heads up for anyone looking for them, this is the only actual brick and mortar store they have. If you aren’t over on Lake Air Drive, you can usually find their food truck over at the Silos. Definitely worth a stop if you want a piece of Waco history that actually tastes good.
It’s a burger place with an old-school vibe.
Extremely similar to In ‘n Out, but with a less corporate feel.
The place was empty, which gave me low expectations for the food.
But I was totally wrong.
I ordered a Whizz-Pig, and that burger is dangerous. Beef mixed with bacon is something else.
Extremely delicious.
Double meat, so I can feel my cholesterol running through my veins. Lol
I enjoyed it. It was really good.
I ordered an Onion Ring on the side, and it blew my mind. Great flavor, and huge.
The French fries were good too.
Super fast service, fresh ingredients, and a special, ready-made place to wash your hands. They know you’ll need it, and believe me, if you’re going to enjoy the burger without any worries, that spot will be key. lol
Don’t go wearing light-colored clothing, you’re in danger. lol
100% recommended.
There’s something reassuring about a burger joint that knows exactly what it is. Captain Billy Whizzbang’s isn’t trying to reinvent beef. It’s not chasing truffle aioli, brioche theatrics, or architectural towers that require a structural engineer to eat. It’s doing the honest work.
The cheeseburger arrives wrapped in paper like a quiet promise. Sesame seed bun, lightly toasted. A proper sear on the patty. Bacon tucked in, jalapeños giving that Texas wink. The cheese melts into the crevices of the beef instead of just sitting on top like an afterthought. You bite in and it does what a burger should do: it yields. Juicy without collapsing. Savory without being greasy. Balanced enough that you don’t need to perform surgery just to keep it together.
The fries? Hot. Golden. Cooked to order. They’re not stealing the spotlight, but they’re reliable companions. Crisp edges, soft centers. They don’t compete with the burger — they support it. Sometimes that’s enough.
The room carries that cozy, old-school charm — red accents, simple boards, straightforward pricing. No ego on the walls. Just a place that’s been flipping patties long enough to understand rhythm. The staff moves with easy familiarity. You’re not rushed. You’re not staged. You’re just fed.
Is it the undisputed heavyweight champion of Waco burgers? Maybe not. The very best spots create that internal standoff where you can’t decide whether the fries or the burger deserve first bite. Here, the burger leads. The fries follow.
But five stars aren’t always about perfection. They’re about experience. Fresh, cooked-to-order food. Friendly service. A burger that hits its mark. A soft drink cold enough to reset the palate.
Some meals aim for fireworks.
Some aim for comfort.
This one delivers comfort with confidence.

Will definitely seek out this place in the future when I come through the area again!
We went to the Whizzbang food truck on the Silo property. I had been wanting to try their whizzpig burger for a long time but I always found myself trying a different food truck. This time I committed and I’m so glad I did, this was the best burger I’ve ever had. Perfectly greasy and flavorful without being too messy from the toppings. I made no substitutions and it was perfect.
The only thing I was bummed about was finding out this was a chain and there are actually whizzbang fries as well! I’m going to have to hit up the brick and mortar when I get to Waco next time.
I convinced my brother to get a whizzpig after he already had a mid hotdog from the place next door and he was just as impressed.
Also this would be the PERFECT hangover burger. No question.
So I went and was not disappointed.
Great burger wonderful onion rings ( hand battered). Was greatest when I walked in the door and food was fresh and hot.
Large sweat tea was really good also.
Not too sweat but enough
