What an absolutely gem of a chip shop! We were staying in the area for the weekend. We booked a table in the restaurant side. The staff are the most attentive and friendliest of people. Outstanding customer service. The food we had was amazing and I have to say the best fish and chips I have ever tasted! An 80s nostalgic vibe which was fantastic even the desserts were a throw back to good old comfort food. Next time we are in Somerset we will definitely be visiting again. An absolute dream and a wonderful experience. Thanks to the owners and staff. We are massively grateful

Visited this place recently as we were due to spend a night at Shepton Mallet Prison. It was a Friday evening and this place was super busy with their takeaway side. Luckily, the sit down section was less busy and we were greeted as soon as we entered and taken to a table. Even though the takeaway section was busy, our food came quicker than we expected and was piping hot. The Cod was super fresh tasting and wrapped in a light, crispy batter. Chips were spot on along with a lovely chip shop style curry sauce that didn’t taste watered down like many fish shops try to give you!
The photo doesn’t do it justice but these were the ‘large’ portions and large they certainly were! After a long day in work and an almost 3 hour drive, we needed a good meal to keep us going for then whole night at the prison and this certainly was it!
Price point I feel was great. I tried looking at the takeaway prices when leaving and it appeared that we only paid a few pound more to sit in which I felt was very fair, too.
This is definitely a local hotspot and deserves to be, too. One of the best fish and chips we’ve ever had on our travels and little did I expect that when we were looking for a food spot prior to the journey. We have even planned a future trip so that we detour here just so that we can come back again soon.
Great hospitality, super quick service, great tasting food and a very fair price – what more could you ask for?

We had a lovey evening meal here. They booked us in for a last-minute table of 10. Really efficient, friendly service. Food was reasonably priced and massive portions. Great selection of all your favourite chipshop classics. Desserts were lovely, too.
My child suffers from a sensitive gag reflex and was unwell in the carpark. Staff cleaned up and provided us with a bag without us even asking. Just small gestures, but go a long way in an unfortunate stressful incident!

Friendly welcome on arrival. Decided to try something different, so chose a jacket potato with beans and grilled Haddock. It was a good choice. Enjoyed every mouthfull will definatly have it again. Good selection of hot and cold drinks available including draught Budweiser

Without reservation, we were seated immediately, by very friendly staff. Within 45 seconds we got the menu’s and our drinks were there within 3 minutes. Food only took 5 minutes more. Amazing speed, efficient staff and very friendly as well.
The fish and chips was amazing, lovely big portions, and tasty. The burger was amazing as well, and all together very reasonably priced.
Parking is on site, it’s easy to reach and the toilets are very clean as well. Love to come here again when we will be back in the UK.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. We had 2 portions of cod and chips, one portion poached cod and chips with one portion of mushy peas. 2 x cola and under £50. Didn’t have the large cod and chips but don’t think we could have eaten them all as the normal portion was ample. Second time we have used this restaurant and well worth a visit. We are on holiday and would highly recommend it.

What a fantastic chippie. As we entered the staff were not only disinfecting the table tops but also the chairs including the legs and backrests. The food is of an excellent quality and very large portions. The cod was cooked to perfection and the batter beautifully crispy. The hot chilli burger was the best I’ve had in a long time. The chips were cooked to perfection. The toilets were spotlessly clean. As for the staff, they are a lovely, friendly bunch and made us feel very welcome.(8/1/22)
