The tomato sauce on the Margherita is so bright and fresh and the mozzarella is cooked perfectly and not rubbery at all.
The breakfast special pie has a nice salty punch from the bacon and balanced nicely with the sweet hot honey, the funkiness of the Gruyere, and the fluffiness of the egg. The everything seasoning is a fantastic touch as well.
I’m glad I took the drive from Seattle to try his amazing pizzas. Whit and Jocelyn were also very friendly and showed great hospitality. Whit’s Pizza Pie is a great addition to the thriving Portland pizza scene!
I had a spicy pepperoni pizza, a Caesar salad, and some chocolate chip cookies.
The dough has impossibly crackly bubbles. Masterful; so good.
I love the tomato sauce which was so well stewed. Just the essence of the tomato. So smooth. And the spicy pepperoni was as promised redolent of excellent cured pork. There was also a beautiful balanced garlic note, as promised.
The salad had green crunchy Romaine and generous shreds of parmesan.
The cookies were crunch and chewy and just salty enough. I had to get another couple.
Maybe next time I’ll remember to take more pictures!
If you want to show your family and friends a Portland Gem!! This is your spot!!!
No dipping sauce is needed that’s how FIRE their pizza is!!
