Best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time!
The batter was perfectly crispy, the fish was fresh and flaky, and the fries were golden and delicious. Portions were generous and the tartar sauce was homemade and packed with flavor. The staff were friendly and the seaside vibe made the whole experience even better. A must-visit spot for fish and chips lovers❤️!

We had a great dining experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing. The perch was especially delicious perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also tried the honey garlic wings, which were outstanding and a definite highlight. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right very tasty!
The atmosphere was wonderful, with a very nice patio that made our visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, it was a great experience with my family, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

good fries. bad fish. we got the haddock and cod and they both were really slimy and soggy. almost the consistency of jello.

Few years later and the quality has dropped which is unfortunate. Pretty underseasoned now. Food and service was great! We ended up going two days in a row. We got the fish and shrimp combo with an extra piece of perch. It comes with fries, in house tartar sauce and what tasted like sweet chili Thai. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was more than enough for 2 of us. Great view from the patio as well and a fun atmosphere.

Our party ordered a variety of fish and chicken dishes with fries. The fries were burnt, and the fish pieces were paper thin, smothered in greasy, overcooked batter. One piece appeared undercooked and was noticeably slimy. Within a few hours, most of us felt quite unwell. The quality and preparation of the food were far below acceptable standards, and the experience was deeply disappointing. I would 100% not recommend this restaurant. Absolutely terrible!

We had high hopes from reviews, and Whitecaps Rivershack exceeded them. The batter was light and flavourful without feeling greasy, and the fish was abundant—not just breading masquerading as fish. Service was prompt, cheerful, and truly local. Perfect riverside lunch spot.
