Traveling thru. So happy to have found this gem. The creamy chicken wild rice soup was amazing! For entree chose the duck breast with wild rice and cranberry compote. Delicious. Only wish I could’ve stayed for the live music featured every Tuesday evening. Lyla, Sean and Rolli were amazing and so welcoming!

Came here on a Monday for dinner. Were seated immediately with friendly staff. The setting is very nice inside and outside. Had the filet mignon which was phenomenal. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned and came with au jus. You get soup or salad with your entree. I chose the salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing and it was fresh and tasty. Loved the unique dressing. I had a baked potato and tried my friend’s fries which were very tasty. Also came with a piece of corn on the cob which was good. Brian was our server and he was super professional, attentive, and helpful. Drinks were excellent as well. I had a Moscow Mule. Checked out the pool area after dinner and that was very nice as well. I highly recommend this place.

One of the better places to go in Manitowish Waters. Nice venue on Lake Manitowish Waters. Food was excellent and our server was spot on and knowledgeable. Best chicken and rice soup I had in the Nothwoods! The burger was special.Made for a great evening out with the family. Will return.

The people who work here must have sensory issues — like poor eyesight and compromised taste buds. I ordered grilled shrimp and was presented with a small plate of disgusting, overdone shrimp that were rubbery and loaded in salt. Either they can’t cook — or they just don’t care. My advice to staff is to fund eye exams for your staff and some basic home economics courses. Not only is the food nastier than Nicki Minaj’s latest music video, it will cost you an arm and a leg. Highly disappointing.

We tried White Oak Grill tonight and were not disappointed. Seating was limited due to an upcoming wedding, however, we got a table in the bar area right after they opened at 5pm. It is beautiful inside and much nicer than any Northwoods restaurant/bar I’ve been to. Outdoor seating on a nice paver patio is also available. Tim was our server and he was friendly and very attentive. We started with the white cheddar cheese curds which were outstanding. For dinner I had the Haddock fish fry and it was awesome. It came with baked potato, beans with bacon, cole slaw, rye bread and 4 perfectly cooked pieces of fish ($20). The homemade tartar sauce is some of the best I have ever had! My wife had the 3 steak tacos ($12) which she said were excellent. My kids had the spaghetti ($5) which came with a huge piece of garlic toast. They said it was great. Overall it was a great Northwoods find and will definitely be back!

Swung in here for dinner when other plans fell through. Walked right in and got a table, before we even got a chance to look at menu the waters were already on the table. Micheal was an excellent server, great service and very friendly and attentive. Food was really good and timely! Really glad we stopped here!

East bound on US 2 and hungry around 12:30. Saw the sign for White Oak Grill barely peeking out behind the bushes. Jumped on brakes hard enough to bring my wife forward slamming into my back (Spyder motorcycle).
Drove down a paved curvy and forested road to another sign pointing our way to the Grill.
WOW! What an exclusive establishment. Went in front door feeling a little out of place wearing motorcycle gear instead of resort wear, but that was quickly dispatched by the warm and friendly welcoming by Michael. He answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable.
VERY limited lunch menu. Salad or pizza. Homemade pizza! We opted for the pizza and outdoor seating on the patio. Y the manicured lawn. With the lake peeking through tall mature pines. Proper amount of shade. Proper amount of breeze coming off the lake.
Michael attended to my wife completing our pizza order while I chatted with other guest sharing motorcycle adventures.
First came real plates and heavy silverware the same as indoors. Then came the pizza all hot and bubbly. Loaded to the hilt with big chunks of sausage, mushroom slice that you could tell were hand cut from fresh mushrooms not the chopped and diced stuff from a can. Crust was crisp and crunched like it was supposed to taste great. We ate the whole 12” pie. What a totally wonderful experience. I encourage all to try. Looks like Saturday night is prime rib. But try and keep it a secret (no chance of that)

Excellent food in north woods grandeur. Two real wood burning fireplaces add to the ambiance. We will definitely be back.
