Food was awesome. Fresh and made to order. Piping hot. Service prompt and experienced— Waitress Chelsea knows what she’s doing. Reasonable prices. Hadn’t been here in a while, was told there were new owners. Kuddos to them, great to reencounter a Flint landmark. Don’t hesitate to stop, you won’t regret it.

White Horse Tavern is a place I visit somewhat regularly for some brews and food. I love the decor and vibe of the place! They have some good deals on drinks and food written up on or near the walls so make sure to check that out when you go. We usually get a large pizza and a pitcher of beer when we go! Their pizza is also really good, only one time it was kind of mid because they put a bunch of cheese on it. I recommend this place for a nice affordable sit down experience 🙂

I travel all over the US and Canada to make movies and, as a rule, I try to eat locally…and today I’m soooo glad I did! The White Horse Tavern in Flint, MI will be my new favorite destination whenever I’m in the area! The very best hamburger I’ve had in the last 10 years was — believe it or not — the $5 burger special! I’m not kidding!! I’ve freaking paid as much as $35 for a mediocre burger and regretted it, but my only regret is that I only ordered ONE $5 burger at the White Horse Tavern!! This is a SERIOUSLY delicious burger! Coupled with their onion rings — which were not greasy — and I had an amazing lunch for far less than expected!! Also the beer prices were enticing and, if I wasn’t expected on set to continue filming later, I would have indulged. Finally, the music selection was enjoyable and low enough to have conversations with other members of my group without having to raise voices in order to be heard. The wait staff was genuinely friendly and I can’t sing enough praises for the White Horse Tavern! And at the risk of being redundant: Order the $5 burger for lunch and I promise you will be pleased!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here after it was recommended by the B&B we were patronizing.
Reservations are not required, but we made them just to ensure a seat. They do recommend calling 24 hour ahead for reservations.
We had a couple of drinks (pretty good), but no appetizer due to a late lunch.
I had the ribeye, which was slightly overcooked, and a baked potato (yummy). My wife had the salmon, which she loved.
She also ordered carrot cake to go and to be enjoyed at a later date.
A note on the decor – there is a lot to appreciate with the stallion wall murals and the tree art on the floor.
They also have patio seating, which we did not partake.

Fantastic bar! Great atmosphere and service. It’s very old school in here. Definitely a good place to have a beer and watch some football. The food is pretty good too. You’re definitely going to want to order the chicken pot pie soup.

I’ve been here several times now. I’m never disappointed. This last time, it was a Thursday, I think. Had a large pizza and a pitcher off brew for like 20 bucks. I’m definitely going to get back for that deal again. The atmosphere is great. This place has been around a long time from what I’ve learned. The folks there take great care of the place and my family and me at every visit.

Came here to the restaurant for the first time! The service was quick and friendly. Our server had the best memory and was very nice! We ordered two-piece fish & chips. The fish was better than the chips. The food was hot! The Cole slaw was just ok. The place had a nice vibe to it. The seats and tables looked a bit outdated but that fit with the atmosphere. I would come back here again.

Went in for some late lunch early dinner and luckily it was pretty empty so I thought it would be quick. We sat down and got our drinks then we proceeded to wait 30 minutes and our server never came back. I could see them the whole time I was sitting there and they were just playing on their phone and vaping. When another server saw me looking at them they asked if we needed to order and I said we would just pay for the drinks and leave because I didn’t want to eat there anymore. She then dramatically turned around and threw her hands up with attitude as if I just insulted her and said forget the drinks we can just go

The White Horse is a great local hangout in downtown Flint. The food is good and filling. It’s a great place to go and watch a game as there are televisions all over. However, if you’re looking specifically for quiet, I don’t recommend it unless you are going late when there is less of a crowd there to enjoy the sports. As far as I know, there is no private room. Anyone else know? Otherwise, it’s perfect for those who are looking for that sports bar atmosphere and some of your favorite comfort foods.
