Me and my husband visited on Friday March 6th at around 5pm. The service was good, although the food was very lacking. I ordered a sea food platter, while my husband ordered the fish fry. For 28$ you’d expect the crab cake to not come out burnt. The batter for the fish fry was cooked on the outside and raw on the inside. The hushpuppies were hard and very overcooked. Although the shrimp was cooked okay.
The issue was politely brought up with no offer to remake or any compensation. Will not be be revisiting in the future.

This was our second visit and um glad we made it back. The fish and chips are delicious and the fried green tomato BLT was a nice surprise. The staff is nice and helpful. Will visit again!

Way to expensive for the shitty food.
The crab dip I was so excited for was trash. Tasted like mustard mixed with crab imitation.
The salmon if that’s even what it was definitely was not fresh or remotely close to it, tasted like crummy city water, the mash potatoes came out of a bag and was the best thing out of it all.
The spicy chick sandwich the chicken came out of the freezer and the fries were season with something that shouldn’t be on food.
The service was good. We had a nice young lady, she was as polite and kind as could be.
The atmosphere would have been fine if they hadn’t been playing depressing oldies style music.

Food was varied: fried pickles were awesome. Fish and chips were very good with great tartar sauce. Burger was ok. Chopped steak roll was ok but not much flavor or “stuff.” Mashed potatoes were good. Temps were not hot, just warm (not cold). Kitchen had major issues: we were told 25 minutes before they could take food orders because they were behind (took a bit longer). Out of baked potatoes and behind on dish washing, so, plastic cups. Not a giant, busy place but more than they were ready to handle. Live music that night (too loud inside for my taste). Server was very nice if a bit harried and tired. Small cat-fight at bar led to several law enforcement vehicles responding but seemingly not a big deal. One regular was sneaking a smoke outside in the no smoking area of the patio. Prices were a bit high for quality, quantity, and service.

We were skeptical of a restaurant in a hotel complex but glad we ate here. Maryland comfort food! Crab chowder, crab cakes, well cooked green beans with pork, and macaroni and cheese. A nice lunch for a blustery December day. Friendly causal service.

My daughter had the weekend planned out and this was the place she picked for Saturday night. It sits inside a hotel, you had to go through lobby to get to. Overall the restaurant was not that shabby, but the seats could use a makeover. They were torn and cracked .
I ordered French onion soup to start and it was cold . And not a ton of cheese . My chicken sandwich was pretty tasty and made up for the soup, forget the name but it was the spicy one, My daughter had a burger she said it was good , but the Mac and cheese not so much.
Over all it was a good meal and the band started at 6 and were pretty good too

Harpers Ferry Tails Pet Sitting
I’ll start by saying that the waitress did try to help when we got her attention and explained we were fed up but we were left to wonder what was keeping anyone from bringing us the bread we’d asked for 10+ minutes before to eat with the crab dip that didn’t come with nearly enough. There were a few servers, a manager and no more than 4 other tables (none large groups) and we were 2. After flagging down the “manager” who was standing behind the bar (no customers there) we asked him what was taking that long to get warm bread from the kitchen to the table while the crab dip was becoming less appealing with every minute that passed. He said he’d check and then came back a few minutes later saying it would be out shortly. Shortly had come and gone ages ago. This wasn’t a soufflé being made to order or anything “off menu” it was bread to eat with an overpriced appetizer with an overwhelming cream cheese to crab ratio that was now cold and undesirable.
Busy I get, market prices I understand for fresh seafood, higher prices go together with ambience, service and quality food and dining experiences. However, this is a motel overlooking a parking lot with a bit of frozen crab and what I learned later was also frozen bread, few customers, more than adequate staff for 3 times the diners in a restaurant that could have been flipped over to a kiddie theme pizza place with a mouse or a favorite spot for long haul truckers who like pie just yards from the highway.
People come to visit Harpers Ferry WV and spend their money on making memories. If not for the people who live here, do better for them.
