The White Elephant Saloon isn’t just a bar—it’s an experience. If you’re in the Fort Worth Stockyards, this place should be at the very top of your list. From the moment you walk in, you’re transported into authentic Texas history with a perfect blend of Old West charm and modern hospitality.

The atmosphere is incredible. The rustic wood interior, historic photos, and classic saloon feel make it clear this place has stories to tell. Whether you grab a seat at the bar, a table near the stage, or just stand and take it all in, every corner feels genuine and welcoming.

The live music was outstanding—true Texas country played the way it’s meant to be heard. Not overly loud, just right to enjoy the music and still have a conversation. The crowd was friendly, relaxed, and exactly what you’d hope for in the Stockyards.

Service was excellent. The staff were attentive, personable, and made you feel like a regular even if it was your first visit. Drinks were cold, well-made, and served quickly even when it was busy.

What really stood out was the authenticity. This isn’t a tourist trap pretending to be historic—it is historic. The White Elephant Saloon has been part of Fort Worth’s story for generations, and you can feel that legacy the moment you step inside.

I highly recommend stopping here whether you’re visiting Fort Worth for the first time or returning. It’s the kind of place where you’ll take photos, stay longer than planned, and leave already looking forward to your next visit.

Perfect spot for photos, live music, and soaking in real Texas culture.

Super neat historical bar in the Stockyards!! The service can be a bit spotty, but it’s definitely worth checking out!

There’s a lot of interesting decorations and contributions from visitors. It’s a simple bar with your typical bar selections, but the historical aspect of it sets it apart. The drinks are priced pretty normally. I recommend stopping in for a round and to check out the inside!

The oldest bar from From Worth. We were advised to go there by Matthew, our most friendly taxi driver in the quiet morning already

White Elephant Saloon | Boots, Burgers & Bourbon-Scented Elbows

I love the White Elephant—it’s like stepping into the wild, whiskey-soaked heart of Fort Worth. The vibe? Pure honky-tonk magic. The bar? Cozy… and by cozy, I mean prepare to get friendly with the person next to you, because this place is tight. And I don’t mean in a bad way—just… elbows will touch, and that’s part of the charm.

Technically, the food comes from Love Shack next door, and y’all—it’s a burger party in your mouth. Juicy, messy, flavor bomb central. Just know that ordering can feel a little “wait… do I go over there or…?” but once it lands on your table, none of that matters.

Drinks? Strong, cold, and consistent. The bartenders don’t play around.

All in all, White Elephant is the kind of place where you come for a drink and end up two-stepping, bonding with strangers, and contemplating naming your next pet “Brisket.” Highly recommend if you love a little grit with your good time.

I feel like the Stockyards are losing their authenticity. Brought a friend from London, the music playing was just typical rock and when the band came on at 8:00 it was very folksy, no dancing, it just didn’t fit the vibe. He asked why he wasn’t hearing very much country music in the whole area lol. I don’t go as often as I used to when I was growing up, but I feel like the whole area is changing. But the service was good and we enjoyed our time overall.

After walking around downtown, we wandered into the White Elephant Saloon. The atmosphere was so lively, and the band music was fun to listen to.

After munching on some nachos and tenders, we played shuffleboard and shot some pool. Once the music started up again, we took to the dance floor.

Saw the Bartender there who knew Cody Jinks when he was bartender before starting his music career. Met a nice couple visiting from the United Kingdom. Food was good.
