My husband & I came here because we heard the onion rings were hand made and delicious. And we heard right. They were fresh & hot! I also got fried chicken livers. I am picky about those and you can’t find good ones easily. These were good! My husband got the fried chicken & loved it. But the sides were all just ok. The server was very friendly & attentive.

Not a bad little comfort food spot. Of course we tried the onion rings. They did not disappoint. My wife got the chicken liver dinner, I had the fried chicken. It was pretty much what we expected. Not gourmet, but solid country cooking.

Cute little spot, but sadly their food wasn’t any good The salmon patty ( under cornbread) was drier than a shoe sole, peas tasted like they came straight from a can, and the apple dessert was pretty lackluster and flavorless aswell. I doubt I’ll come back for more.

We arrived around 3pm, they close at 4pm. We were able to seat ourselves as business that time of day is always alot slower. There was one server on and she came right over and got our drink order. There were 4 of us and we made up our minds what to order pretty fast. The young lady put in our order and continued waiting on a few other tables. Our food arrived about 10 minutes later. Our food was cooked hot, fresh and each order was correct. We asked for a few condiments and she was back in a flash. She was Very personable and friendly with a sweet smile.
We had 2 orders of Country fried steak with white pepper gravy. 1 had mac and cheese, the other mashed potatoes and white gravy and turnip greens. 1 order of a bacon cheese omelet and 1 flounder dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was spot on, hot and delicious. They only complaint was packaged tartar sauce was too sweet and bland. Other than that we all enjoyed a wonderful late lunch for under $40! Plenty of food, like most authentic southern little restaurants. We tipped our server well and complimented the food. If we’re ever back in Ellijay, we will be stopping back in!

Excellent home cooked comfort food. Wish more places like this were around still. Think they have a dinner menu that changes each day and a set menu.

Restaurants (And any place of business) should treat their customers with respect. If not for them, how would a business survive? This wasn’t the case with my mother in law today. She was treated absolutely inhumane. Would YOU want to eat anything that had a mysterious black foreign object in it? I certainly wouldn’t. When she pointed out the problem, the owner of this establishment was completely rude and nasty, and tried to make my mother in law feel as if everything was her fault. You don’t treat people that way. Especially a paying customer. None of us will ever darken the door of this clip joint again.

Fantastic late lunch. Even though we were about an hour from closing, we were welcomed. We chose meat and 3 – with a dessert for one of the three! We both had fried chicken. It was a little tough, due to being cooked a while – but it was juicy and flavorful. Green beans were the best I have ever had in a restaurant. Seasoned, but not loaded in onions. Other vegetables we had was corn, baked beans, Mac & Cheese – all were good.
Dessert!! I had banana pudding and it was fantastic – just the right mix of bananas, vanilla wafers and pudding. Hubby had German chocolate cake. He said it was very good with the cake being nice and moist.
We will definitely eat here the next time we are in the area.

Somewhat of a hole on the wall. Located in an old strip mall. Seems popular with the older locals. Wife praised the hamburger & onion rings. Mother-in-law liked her ground sirloin. I had no complaints with the fried chicken, turnip greens, & green beans. Would not order the mac & cheese again – tasted like a knockoff of Kraft mac & cheese, but not as good. Overall, we’ll go back.

Came up from Atlanta to check on our new home build, and decided to try a local breakfast place that wasn’t on the Square, for a change. This is a plain and old, but clean diner located in an extremely run-down shopping plaza. The service was friendly from the young lady who helped me at breakfast time. The breakfast was just fine. Not great and not bad. Clientele was local, and generally elderly. Would not make this a destination choice by any means. But I’m glad it’s there for the people and I will likely visit again.
