We serve up tasty farm-to-kitchen dishes and cocktails, all made from scratch with ingredients sourced from local and regional farms and markets. We use slow-cooking methods on our wood grill and spit because it just tastes better that way. Come dine with us at our communal tables, in one of our booths, on our sofas or rocking chairs, or perhaps on the porch next to the fireplace.
A live-wood grill, smoker & spit are used to prepare food at this hip joint with a whiskey focus.

I tried Whiskey River for the first time today. I reserved a table for my party (not required). I arrived, was greeted, and shown to our table. The server was on par with drinks, food, and anything we asked for. From the food to our drinks, the presentation and taste were exceptional. Come and enjoy dinner/lunch at Whiskey Cake.

The wait staff was great. Waiter understood what we were looking for in whiskey and had great suggestions for the build your own flight. As hard as Pappy is to find in Texas it was nice to see it available for flight. Not the best steak I have ever had from a Whiskey Cake. A little underwhelmed with the flavor and the cook.

This was our first dining experience here… Celebrated my birthday on the pet-friendly patio with my hubby & our furbaby. Our server, Leah S., was awesome…very attentive and patient. Our libations were phenomenal, I had a Boo-Berry Pie, my hubby had a Monkey Shoulder. We both took advantage of Social Hour and each had a Old Fashioned. Kudos to the Bartender! Appetizers were pretty good, just a little skimpy. We ordered the devil eggs and spinach & artichoke dip. I have to be honest and mention we weren’t really pleased with our dinner, either. We wanted the Yarbird, but they were out so we both ordered the Wood Grilled Salmon. The fish could’ve been grilled just a tad bit more and something was just off about the plate presentation. We also ordered addt’l sides and still felt things were off. I’m a Home Chef, so I’m giving my expert opinion on quality and presentation
Eventhough the food wasn’t to our liking, the Whiskey Cake w/ the spiced pecans & fresh whipped cream was AAAHMAAAZING!!!
Overall, we had a nice dinner experience. We’ll try the location in Stafford, TX next time, which is close to our home.

1st visit! The start was a little slow, but WOW! This place finished with a Bang!! Outstanding!
Service was excellent and their attention to details is incredible…they supplied out cloth napkins to refresh your hands…a must after having a dripping BBQ sauce chicken sandwich. Now the food… impressive. I ordered the chicken sandwich with homemade chips…this is definitely a must. My daughter had the Ceaser salad, she is a connoisseur on this and she was impressed. My wife had the Ruben sandwich, she knows Rubens and she said it was a re-order item in the future.

Everything was great! I was a little on the fence when my wife wanted the GOAT cheese fondue app, when they brought it to the table they mashed the garlic into the cheese with the tomatoes and it comes with local bread. I think it was the best app I’ve ever had. They had candles at the table you could light. I mean it was just a really good restaurant.

Delicious. Flavorful. Well-rounded menu and plentiful whiskey offerings. Situated in the bustling mall complex but right outside the lawn area so there is parking adjacent. A lively and TX local staple, we are glad we came!

We ordered Steak Frites for $34 and what we got is very large portion of potato fries and few slice of beef. It must be a joke compared to Texas Roast House top quality Prime Steak $27. The waitress provided the worst service I have ever experienced. We did not order Roasted Garlic Hummus and for some reason she add that to our order and when she brings that to us and we told her we did not order that. She simply brings it back without apologies. The worst is she send us check without taking off that order. Upon that time we have to wait for her for about 10 minutes until she is showing up and to correct that and still no apology. Even that, we still pay her 15% tips. In my opinion, she deserves no tips. Hope she will improve the service quality. Overall, food quality and pricing are not right.
After I posted my review, I got offered a chance to directly communication Wes who is also an assistance of general manager. I am pleased and impressed the management takes this very seriously to try to improve their service and food quality.
I hope I will revisit this restaurant during coming holiday season again.
For now, I change my overall rating from 1 Star to 4 Star.
Thanks Wes.

I went here with my partner at 6:00 pm on a Saturday. It was busy, but we had a reservation. The restaurant decor is cute and unique. We started off with the Goat Cheese Fondue. Both me and my partner liked it. I got a bubbly wine. It stayed bubbly for a long time which is important to me when ordering a bubbly wine. For our main course I got the Chicken and Waffles and my partner got a burger, both were very good. I don’t have pictures because we ate them too fast! For dessert we got the Whiskey Cake. This was delicious, even the whipped cream tasted great and they give you a lot! Our waitress was very nice and we gave her a $20 tip. Our bill was about $80 before the tip. This was a great place for date night, but I also saw a lot of families there with children too.
