We serve up tasty farm-to-kitchen dishes and cocktails, all made from scratch with ingredients sourced from local and regional farms and markets. We use slow-cooking methods on our wood grill and spit and in our smoker because it tastes better that way. Come dine with us at our communal tables, in one of our booths, on our sofas or rocking chairs, or perhaps on the porch next to the fireplace.
Contemporary industrial-style venue for New American plates, along with a whiskey cocktail menu.

We went here for a family dinner tonight, and everything we ordered was delicious. The fried green tomatoes is a pretty nice appetizer choice; the sauce is amazing. My steak frites, which I got cooked well done, was still juicy, and that steak sauce paired with the beef tallow Chimichurri sauce on the steak was delicious!! I was very pleased with how my steak turned out. My husband’s fish (the fish and chips entree) was so light, crispy and seasoned well. It was absolutely delicious; I would definitely get that next time. Lastly, our server was polite and attentive to our needs. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner experience and thoroughly enjoyed our food!

We were visiting from Canada, and Whiskey Cake came highly recommended by a friend. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere had a lively, energetic vibe that made the experience even more enjoyable. Of course, we wanted to try their famous whiskey cake, but we were already so full from our meals. Luckily, they kindly offered to split the portion, allowing us to enjoy half at the restaurant and pack the rest to go. It was absolutely worth it. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Texas.

This place officially lives rent free in my food memory.
From the first bite, it was clear this wasn’t just a good meal. It was a standout dining experience. Knowing that everything is made from scratch, down to the ketchup, makes it even more impressive. The fish and chips were perfectly crisp without being heavy, the rotisserie chicken was juicy and deeply seasoned, and the fried chicken sandwich was hands down the best I’ve ever had.
The whiskey cocktail was balanced, smooth, and dangerous in the best way. Absolute perfection. And then came dessert. The whiskey cake was so good I see why they literally named the restaurant after it. It deserves that honor.
What truly elevated the night was the hospitality. The chef and manager personally came out to greet us, which says everything about the pride they take in their craft. Our server, Erin, was exceptional. Warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made the evening better.
This is the kind of restaurant that reminds you why dining out can still feel special. We will go out of our way to come back whenever we are in Texas again and we will be bringing everyone with us. If you are even considering it, stop thinking and go.

Good experience. Went with a large group of friends. Service was quick and attentive. The restaurant was a bit loud, and alot of echo. I ordered the salmon which was very delicious. The dish did not come with any sides, but was super delicious. You also have to try the actual whiskey cake. It looks like chocolate cake, but its delicious like a soft sponge cake.

We had a wonderful celebratory dinner at Whiskey Cake, and everything from start to finish was on point. We kicked off the evening with the candied bacon — absolute perfection — along with the Brussels sprouts, which were equally delicious.
Someone at our table ordered the chicken and waffles and generously shared a bite, and wow — easily the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced… but the waffle was definitely the star of that show.
I went with the steak frites and swapped out the potatoes. While the chimichurri wasn’t quite my thing, the house-made steak sauce more than made up for it. It’s nothing like A1 — richer, more nuanced — and paired beautifully with their steak seasoning blend. Recommendation is to order that meal cooked at medium per the chef’s recommendation.
For dessert, we shared a generous slice of the whiskey cake, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The house-made whipped cream alone deserves a shoutout — honestly, I could eat a bowl of just that.
And a special mention to our server, Kayla — she was fantastic. Friendly, attentive without hovering, and genuinely warm. She felt like an instant friend and made the experience even better. If you’re dining here, definitely ask for her.
We’ll absolutely be back.

One of my favorite places to eat, no matter what city I’m in, however, I’ve been to this location twice and I cannot recommend it enough. Friendly and accommodating staff, wonderful food and drinks and sultry atmosphere make it such a wonderful place to gather with friends or a date night. We came in pretty late this time, about 45 minutes before close. I ordered my favorite, the Winchester, and my husband ordered his favorite, the Smoked Ol Fashion which were both made perfectly. We also ordered 2 candied bacon and the goat cheese fondue and it was just what the doctor ordered. We haven’t had anything we were not impressed with but the candied bacon and goat cheese fondue are always a hit for us. Thank you guys for always providing the best customer service and yummys!!

Brunch at Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar was an absolute win. I went with a girlfriend for a relaxing brunch, and everything, from the food to the vibe, delivered.
I ordered the steak hash, and wow. Perfectly cooked, tender steak, rich flavors, and a beautifully runny egg that tied everything together. My friend had the shrimp and grits, and it was just as impressive, creamy grits, seasoned shrimp. Cocktails and Mocktails were also good.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, ideal for lingering conversation, and catching up over great food. Service was attentive without hovering, which always feels like a small miracle during brunch hours.
If you’re looking for a place that does brunch well, this is it. We’ll absolutely be back, nprobably sooner than planned.

This was my first time, and maybe my last. This is the type of place that reminds us that not everyone likes every restaurant. This place has it’s pros and cons. The food, a hot honey chicken sandwich, was very good. The whiskey cake was eh… Just eh, if you like toffee you’ll like the dessert, if you don’t you won’t. I didn’t.
We went Christmas Eve during happy hour and it wasnt that crowded, but the service was a bit slow.
And one last thing, don’t sit at the high top tables on the front side of the restaurant. There is a bench on the window side that has a metal bar for a back, and it’s uncomfortable, even with pillows they provide. It’s a poor design.
The bar area is really cool and looks like fun. The atmosphere is fun and entertaining, the staff had on ugly Christmas sweaters for a light mood.
Have fun and remember, this is just one guys opinion.

Whiskey Cake never disappoints, but tonight’s visit was on another level. The food was absolutely outstanding — the goat cheese fondue was rich, creamy, and honestly one of the best starters I’ve ever had. The hummus was incredibly fresh with the perfect texture and flavor, served with warm, perfectly seasoned pita. Every dish had that signature Whiskey Cake quality where you can taste the care and craft behind it.
But what truly made the experience unforgettable was our server, Chris. Over-the-top amazing doesn’t even begin to describe him. His attention to detail was unreal — noticing the little things before we even thought to ask, checking in at just the right times, and making sure our family felt welcomed and taken care of the entire visit. You can tell he genuinely cares about giving people a great experience.
We had an incredible time, and I loved bringing my family here. Whiskey Cake has officially become one of those places we’ll come back to again and again. Highly recommend! ️✨

I had an amazing dinner at Whiskey Kitchen in Plano last weekend, and I can’t recommend it enough. The whole experience was top-notch, starting with the outstanding service from our server Sebastian. He was super attentive without hovering, and his knowledge of the beverages and dining menu is seriously impressive. We were a group of four, and he helped us navigate the options effortlessly, suggesting pairings that hit every mark. No generic advice here—he dove into details about the whiskeys, explaining tasting notes and how they’d complement the dishes, which made the whole meal feel customized.Their whiskey selection is expansive and exciting, easily one of the best I’ve seen in the area. Shelves packed with everything from Scotch to American rye, and they even have some limited editions that caught my eye. Sebastian guided us to a couple we wouldn’t have picked on our own, and they were fantastic—smooth, complex, and perfect for sipping slowly. It added so much to the evening, turning a regular dinner into something special. The food was the star, though. That pork chop is incredible—huge portion, tender meat with a crispy edge, and a sauce that brings out all the savory flavors without overwhelming. It came with great sides like garlic green beans and herb potatoes that kept everything balanced and satisfying. We shared a few apps too, like the deviled eggs and brisket bites, which were solid starters to get the appetite going. For dessert, we split the whiskey cake with Honey Badger ice cream, and it was pure bliss. The cake has this rich, boozy depth that’s not too sweet, and the ice cream adds a creamy, spicy honey element that ties it all together in the best way. It’s indulgent but not heavy, and we polished it off in no time. Sebastian checked back once more to see if we wanted coffee or another whiskey to wind down, which was a nice touch.Whiskey Kitchen in Plano is a gem for anyone who loves great service, an unbeatable whiskey lineup, and hearty, flavorful meals. The atmosphere is welcoming, whether you’re there for date night or a casual hangout. Sebastian’s expertise made it memorable—definitely coming back soon to explore more of the menu and that bar.
