The toasted coconut soft serve was something I had never had before and it was really delicious. I would drive here again just for that flavor. I had never had it anywhere else.
I really wanted the ice cream cookie sprinkle sandwich but I saw they were premade and frozen so I did not buy it. I wish they would have offered it freshly prepared on the spot.
They also had a huge selection of toppings.

I have been coming to Whip and Dip since I was 4 years old. Though I have not lived in Miami for 15 years, I have made it a point to come back on occasion. And I am so disappointed by the extortionate pricing. Whip and Dip was a sweet after school treat. A small soft serve (and this one was way smaller than “back in the day”) with gummy bears should not cost $10. Then to request tip on top of that?
A scoop should not cost more than a pint in store. A glass of wine at a restaurant does not cost more than the bottle in retail. This also goes beyond inflation.

It’s unfortunate, as this is a very good ice cream shop, but there is no reason a single scoop of ice cream $10.99 + 3 tiny spoonfuls of sprinkles $7? I just paid $43 for 2 ice creams which felt like slap in the face on top of the teenager boy scooping seems to hate just being there…felt like he padded my bill just because. I just came in 2 days ago and got the EXACT SAME ORDER from a sweet teenage girl and paid $23 and I have tip! So I am very disappointed in my probably, last visit.

A staple here in South Miami. I recently learned that their second location in Palmetto Bay was closed down a few months ago because they weren’t making enough $$
That’s strange, because their ice cream is awesome. They have been in the South Miami location right off of Sunset Drive forever. Their strawberry ice cream is quite possibly the best strawberry ice cream in the world. Made of pure strawberries, 7 lbs worth in every batch! No sugar added, just real strawberry ice cream with rich cream.
They also have a wide variety of baked goods. The parking is not that great, as they only have about 10 parking spots directly in the front, so some people actually park across the street, and make the daring dash across Sunset Drive to whip and dip. Just so you know, it’s not uncommon for them to sell out completely of the strawberry ice cream any particular night. Tonight, December 30th 2025 at around 8:00 p.m. I want over to whip and dip and lo and behold, they were out of the strawberry ice cream, so I tried the strawberry cheesecake pretzel ice cream something like that, and while it was good, I would have still preferred my regular strawberry ice cream. Even though I live near Palmetto bay, is there strawberry ice cream is the only ice cream I really eats, and so I order it through the Uber Eats app. On occasion, I’ll ride my motorcycle over there ( like I did tonight) and actually pick it up myself. Keep doing a great job whippy dip. We you!

Whip’n Dip in South Miami is an absolute gem! This small, charming ice cream shop has become a beloved staple in the community, and it’s easy to see why. With a vast array of flavors, there’s always something new and exciting to try. Personally, I’m a huge fan of their soft serve creations. They rotate these flavors regularly, and each one is a delightful surprise!
Beyond the incredible ice cream, Whip’n Dip also offers delicious cookies that are simply irresistible. And for those with a competitive streak, the Category 9 challenge is a must-try! Devour 9 scoops in 15 minutes and earn a spot on their hall of fame.
I can’t recommend Whip’n Dip enough. This place truly embodies the sweet spirit of South Miami. Love this shop so much!

This place is so good. The ice cream is amazing. The staff is adorable and super helpful. They give you lots of tests and are very patient with us especially the little ones. You have to try the chocolate Kahlua ice cream. Definitely getting my next birthday cake here.

This is by far the best ice cream you will get. Whip-n-dip has used the same recipe ever since I have been going there. Over 35 years.
They always maintain good service, but a 3 person staff would be better during their busy hours. The floor could also use some regular cleaning during the day.
Aside from that it’ll be hard to find anything better than this place. Give them a try!

Some of the best ice cream in Miami! And prob the only one that I’ve been to that has so many options – soft serve, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, cookies EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD! Staff is so friendly and nice and if you also live in the neighborhood it will quickly and easily become a family favorite. I can’t recommend it enough!!
