When in Anoka and looking for a place to go you should try the Wheelhouse. I had heard of them and the food was good but did not know how good it was. Wow! The broasted chicken was fantastic (in my opinion) and the waffle fries were so good.
The wait staff knew what was worth eating and were spot on. You do have to try the Laca Cake with Ice Cream.

My family and I love Wheelhouse! They have the best food in downtown Anoka by far, everything is fresh and delicious! I especially love the walleye and the smoked clubhouse! All the servers have always been so great to us! We often see Anna and love seeing her! Thank you!

The inside of the restaurant was too dark for our liking so we sat on their outdoor patio. I do wish it was a smoke free patio as cigarette smoke was blowing towards us for most of our stay. Otherwise the patio was great on our nice day out.
We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with fries and the Ultimate Bacon Burger with tots. We additionally added a side of mac and cheese. The Philly cheesesteak was good and so were the fries. The ultimate bacon burger was very large. The bacon jam on it was great. The Mac and cheese was no where near fantastic. I would not order it again because the cheese sauce is gritty.

We stopped in for lunch today; our first time here, and I have to say I’m really glad another bar a few doors down ignored us or we wouldn’t have tried Wheelhouse! We got the broasted chicken and it was phenomenal!! It was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside with just the right spices. I’ve tried many broasted chicken places and this is hands down the best I’ve had.
The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get, and they don’t upcharge every little thing. The food quality is very good as well. I wish they had handcut fries, but the waffle fries are good. The side salad was crisp and fresh, with of course an awesome “restaurant ranch”, if you know, you know.
Our waitress today was the absolute sweetest and did a wonderful job… and answered our many questions honestly, which was a big help deciding what to try. She checked back often enough, but not so much it felt like hovering which is a plus!
They have a mix of high tops and low tops as well as bar seating. The music wasn’t obnoxiously loud either, which was really nice! (And great selection today!)
Will I go back? Absolutely!!

The service lacked. The food was bad, I ordered nachos, in my opinion its hard to mess up nachos.. the service was slow tho it was empty and the easiest item to make is nachos and they barely had cheese. Maybe they ran out idk. I would most definitely never come here again.

Ended up here after an evening at The Hardware Store. We went there for drinks, and here for food. Walked in during a bingo session. Also fairly late (with the kitchen due to close within the hour). This place is nice enough, and the staff were helpful and attentive. Aside from one of our group having a drink spilled into their lap by our server (accidents happen…), we really had no complaints. Then again, nothing really blew our skirts up either. Worth stopping by, for sure. Just don’t be expecting anything particularly special. Distinctly average and unmemorable. To the point I only just remembered we even went there. A whole month later.

Update: Wheelhouse does breakfast now, on Saturday and Sunday. We just went. There was bingo going on too. Breakfast was good. I enjoyed that the French Toast actually had flavor to it (cinnamon and vanilla?). The breakfast potatoes were crispy, which is something I always appreciate.

The wings here are some of (if not the best) wings around! Every single wing was hot and juicy. And the sauce was fresh. Mix and match sauces to your taste between the 12 different flavors. Cajun pasta was tasty and creamy. Plenty of tables in the bar. There is another bar on the rear of the building with several more tables to enjoy on a nice day/night. The staff is friendly and prompt without seeming rude. Much less crowded and easier to navigate than other wing places nearby. Pull tabs near the bar inside the building.

Really delicious food and strong drinks at an affordable price. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Had some of the best nachos of my life — fresh veggies, flavorful sauce, so good! I was there for apps and drinks with a group of 4 for happy hour; the prices were very reasonable, better than almost anywhere I’ve been in recent years. We’ll be back!
