Dark rustic wood-lined dining room gives an old-timey Inn feel. My only complaint on the atmosphere is we got seated by a window with a long hard wooden bench on one side of our table. The bench was pretty Spartan and uncomfortable but the food more than made up for it. Wouldn’t hurt to put some thin cushioning on that bench.
The pulled pork was just okay. Price for the portion for about average. Definitely better deals in other places but not terrible. The meat was somewhat dry and the sauce wasn’t anything too special. Some fattier pieces but mostly leanish.
The fries were a bit soggy but decently seasoned. They went well with the same sauce they gave for the pork. I would have liked more of the sauce, as that’s were most of the flavor in this meal was coming from.
The Mac n cheese was also just okay. It had a sort of artificial taste to it. The little bit of breadcrumbs on top seemed just like an afterthought, as there wasn’t much of them. Somewhat oily.
All in all, I wasn’t a huge fan of this place. It wasn’t bad, but not great either. Wouldn’t really see myself returning here.
Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. So much to talk about; where to start?
The wings are smoked and then fried. I’ve never had anything like it; placing these as the best wings in a category of their very own. It’s not fair to compare these to other fried wings (but yes, they are better). We ordered six Spicy Cowboy. I haven’t tried the other sauces, but I’m sold on this one.
My main course, a half rack of ribs, were some of the best ribs I’ve ever had. They were juicy on the inside, came apart easily, but had a crunchy bark on the outside that exploded with flavor with every bite.
The basic mac & cheese is somehow the best mac & cheese I’ve ever had at a restaurant? I’m honestly puzzled at this one since it’s a small side without any toppings. The macaroni noodles are cooked perfectly al dente, tossed in a unique, light cheese sauce, creating this textured combination that makes your tongue dance for joy.
Pulled pork egg rolls were crunchy and flavorful. Sweet potato fries were crispy, delicious, and sweet without being too sweet; we didn’t even need to use the brown sugar dipping sauce. Our draft beers were fresh and tasty.
The only thing we wouldn’t order again are the tacos. They were kind of bland, boring, and fell right through the bottom of the shell when picked up. Kind of strange considering how well they do everything else.
This was a solid find for us. We will be back and bring everyone we know here.
The baby back ribs are better than most and not fall off the bone what anybody can do. The chicken is pretty good as well as the pulled the fries are great just out of the fryer and fresh cut. Mac and cheese is really good as well as the brisket
The brisket is so tender it falls apart. The salmon was amazing and there bbq sauce selection was nice the smokey Texas and Carolina bacon mustard where the best and if you mix them together it creates an amazing combo with all the key notes of flavor.
