We very much enjoyed our lunch here on Sunday. We made a big mistake and ordered the loaded fries as an appetizer out of starvation and by the time our entrees came we were stuffed, haha. But seriously all the food was very good with huge portions. My gut would be to say it was expensive but the portions were so large that we had three meals out of our lunch. We’ll be back for chicken and biscuits on Wednesday night. Our waitress Melissa was very sweet and helpful. It’s definitely a family friendly spot, lots of babies to play peek-a-boo with. Do make a trip out to the Wheel Inn, there’s a reason why Vermonters will travel to this local haunt.

Our early New Years Eve dinner with friends was a fantastic experience. The waitress/owner was attentive and welcoming. New Year’s hat and noise maker was such a cute touch especially for the kids!
Food was amazing. Generous portions and very tasty. Dessert is a must! Looking forward to returning for more. Thanks for a great local experience!

Went here for the first time a week ago and oh boy was it worth it, my meal was delicious and the portions are more than enough for two. Their desserts are equally huge and good luck eating it all. I had the carrot cake and omg was it delicious! Everything is homemade. It’s a little pricey but worth it, for my wife and I, it was $120 and we each had a main course, salad and dessert and we shared an appetizer. We went with friends and pics of their dishes are on here too.

Coolest small town restaurant I’ve been too. Cat outside for petting, food inside is great, and the staff is very friendly!

Great, hearty, house-made breakfast! Large portions, everything is freshly made on-premise and delicious. Decor is unique, and staff is friendly and prompt. Can’t go wrong! Egg sandwiches, omelets, and pancakes were epic. It is impossible to walk away from this place and still be hungry. Tip: omelets are huge and most likely can be shared.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for 20 years. They have the best homemade food! I love the rustic atmosphere. Homemade bread, rolls, pizza dough. Every Saturday night they serve the best prime rib! Their pies are insane! Servings are enough for 2-3 people. Benson is a small town, The Wheel In. Is basically the reason to make Benson a destination. About 1 mile off Route 22A between Orwell and Fair Haven. If you’re ever driving though, it is worth the short detour!

We were traveling back to NC and happened upon this somewhat off the beaten path local restaurant. We were not disappointed in the least. They accommodated our busload of 38 southerners without missing a beat. The service was as excellent given being overwhelmed with that many at once. The food was not only delicious, but plentiful. But wait there is more. The desserts are ridiculously large and delicious as they are homemade. If you ever find yourself in Benson, VT, do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and make your way here.
