Pizza is fun, informal, celebratory, brings people together, and brings a smile to everybody’s face. We are personal and homemade and this food and atmosphere expresses what we are all about…from the extra swipe of extra virgin olive oil, to fresh snipped herbs; we believe in texture, flavor, and someone to share it with.

Rustic-chic bar & eatery creating California-style pies & Italian fare with carefully sourced meats.

Overall, ok. If you want an okay Italian meal with good service and good drinks this is fine. I definitely have had better Italian food in Dayton.

Went there for our anniversary on a Saturday, prices made us think it would be a little more on the upscale side, it was not. Atmosphere was weird. Customers were more casual than we had expected. The restaurant had their To Go prep station in the very much in the dining room, so it took away from the dining experience watching them bag and do their side work.

The service was good, quick to refill waters and overall pleasant. My drink was great, the bar overall seems like better half of the restaurant.

Food was ok. The warm focaccia bread was awesome, that is the only food I’d go back for. My pizza was dry and lacked flavor. My partner enjoyed his pasta, but said not worth going back for.

I wouldn’t go there again personally. Love the queer allyship! That is great! Just wish the pizza had been better and the vibes a little nicer to match the prices.

Wheat Penny’s atmosphere is casual and comfortable with plenty of space and excellent service. The drinks menu is extensive and the unique food items are diverse with plenty of vegetarian options.
We enjoyed the Burrata Eggplant, Scallops, and Creamed Spinach with exceptional sides of mashed cauliflower and butternut squash. Each item was uniquely flavored and Yummy!
We also ordered a vegetarian pizza with quality toppings – loved the artichoke hearts!

I see why it was so busy !

First off, a shout out to the back of house who make such excellent dishes !

CC and Bryan in front of house take enhance your dining experience !! They are both very professional, knowledge, and friendly !
Bryan also bartends, tho we did not partake… I’m sure his drinks are fabulous from watching his customers

The food was simply delish ! It was hard to choose, but what we did choose was a great choice.

The dining room is really nice (see photos). A picture can say a thousand words ( so I don’t have to!).

I also added some outdoor shots for those but familiar with the area. If you miss it, your GPS will just send you back on the next block. We’d never been so wasn’t quite sure where to go.

Surely check it out, you’ll thank me later !!

I did a door dash for my first experience at this restaurant.
I created my own pizza with carmelized onions, banana peppers, oregano, light cheese, balsamic reduction and well done.
This was exactly what my taste buds wanted. So sweet and crispy
I also wanted pasta. On the menu is a pasta with cheese for under $7.00.
This was also mouth watering. I was surprised when it came with a focaccia stick. There was plenty of red sauce.
I will dine in next time.
It says a lot when your dash dash food is phenomenal.

Excellent food – we got the cauliflower t-bone and the mushroom sandwich. Very tasty and our server Amy was fantastic – she was super helpful in providing vegan options and helping up excellent service. Great experience

From the service to the options to the food itself everything is top notch. The place is fun but can be relaxing. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. I’m complicated with food allergies and they met me and exceeded Mt expectations. Gluten free dairy free pizza that was AMAZING. My husband got the brisket sandwich that is huge but more importantly tastes wonderful. Drinks are also just as good, even unusual cider options that made me so happy. Cannot wait to come back.

We stopped in for a birthday dessert and we were not disappointed! Pictured here is the gluten free carrot cake and gluten free blueberry cobbler. Both so delicious! The bar staff even lit a candle and the whole bar sang to me. It was a memorable experience!

We had a very nice evening in their “glass” room with 9 of us- was quiet but still felt like we were in the restaurant. The food was pretty good – my hamburger was over cooked from what I ordered and the bun a little dry… everything else was great!

if you are loving dark meat like thighs you must try the crispy brick chicken thighs. they are cooked under a brick until crispy and have to say most tender meat with sides. Also must try the homemade desserts.

We (5) went here for lunch before my brother’s wedding and I think ultimately we were all disappointed. To start the menu is very boring and really expensive, which Isn’t normally that big of a deal to me. But everything took a good while to get to the table, and overall we spent about 2 hours at the restaurant. The food was decent but not great, certainly not worth the price point. There were some good things though, service and drinks. Our server was very kind and accommodating to when we wanted to get drinks and when we ordered food. The two cocktails we got were really good as well, very smooth and not super overpowering.
