Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

Never heard of Whataburger until I came to Texas. But definitely the word Whataburger is the truth for the first time. I’ve really enjoyed a fast food hamburger they make a solid burger here perfectly cooked perfect perfectly seasoned. Everything is great, including the onion rings and Apple pies the pop Pepsi is always fizzy and ice. Cold great great place to go for a burger. Definitely will highly recommend and return.

I’ve been coming to this location for years now, and it’s for sure my favorite location in town. I’ve never had issues with any employes, and they are always helpful and kind. Aside from having to wait awhile sometimes, food is always fresh, everytime I get it, and they always get my order correct everytime! I’m unsure of her name, but the woman they have working the window at this time of the year , is so kind and always has a smile on her face! She’s always so excited to see my dog when I come through!

I hear my order being called out to the customer in front of me waiting for a drive-through carry out. Parked in front of me. The gentleman in the truck opens my bag places his hands inside realizes it’s not his food and carries this bag inside. I immediately follow the customer and tell him he must’ve received my order and he said yes, they should remake it and I said exactly the reason I’m going inside as I walk inside the gentleman that carried the bag out is trying to neatly refold my sack hand it to another employee and tells her to bring it to the other truck. I then stated no, I do not want that. I want to change my order because you are not supposed to hand customer food when another customer has touched it. The lady argued I didn’t know that the guy had his hand in the sack and said it doesn’t matter. It was given to another customer therefore, it is unsafe to hand me that food. She gave me attitude and continued laughing, as if it was nothing serious. I will no longer eat at this location. The manager was nice and understood my concern while the other two employees thought it was a joke or treated it as it if it was a joke this is not safe practice. I appreciate the manager allowing me to change my order because of the concern, I did not want to receive the same sandwich. Food safety should be trained to the two employees who were careless and tried to refold the sack neatly.

Last supper. Visitors from the north came to visit & wanted to eat here. They had heard so much about it being Big in Texas. Use to be great in the 70’s when the Dobson Family owned & ran it. But it’s like everything else, franchises, stock market, sell outs. Its claim to be a whataburger is not anymore. I understand the pricing, but quality control is a zero. The whole burger doesn’t meet the expectations of the title of being a Whataburger. The visitors sort of gave it an ok just to be nice. Once a Texas treasure has now disappeared. It was born a whataburger, but hasn’t met that title in many years & it’s sad. Please reinvent the old days & make it a Texas treasure again.

I had to tell my order to the drive thru to be heard. I waited behind the gentleman at the window for more than 5 minutes. I pulled to the window and paid, and was immediately prompted to move forward and park so they could help the next guest. Dissatisfied to say the least.

All employees are very nice and respectful. Dee and Lexi are an asset to this company. I love seeing them when I come through the drive- thru.

This is the second time that I’ve been made to wait in curbside for upwards of 20 minutes while my food just sits there. No offer to replace my gross old fries. Barely an apology. Y’all need to get it together. For real.

Everytime I come here, they ask me to pull around to the other side of the building and spend over 20 minutes getting me cold food. Even if I’m the only person in line. Stopped here to get a homeless guy food and I wouldn’t be surprised if he nearly starved to death by the time I got back to give it to him.

We had a great experience here this morning. We came on a day when this location had several employees call in sick, but even with only 3 workers, they never seemed stressed, and they remained courteous and kind! I always appreciate how clean this location is.
There are several locations in Lubbock, but this one is one of the best. Always consistent and always good food!
