Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

I had not been to a Whataburger for over 30 years. Decided to give it a try while I was on South Padre Island. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The burger was OK, nothing special. The fries were very good. They came to us piping hot. For the meal deal you got a soda, which was medium size but very large. My daughter ordered the barbecue chicken sandwich, which was basically fried chicken strips with barbecue sauce on a toasted bread. They had music playing on the speakers extremely loud. It was even hard to carry on a conversation. Most of the tables were empty, but we’re very dirty. Needed to be wiped off. All in all it was OK but nothing that I would be in a hurry to come back for.

Been a bit since I lived in Texas so when I see a Whataburger I try to stop in. Had the Avacado Bacon Burger. Was pretty good. Need to build locations in Michigan!

Food was definitely enjoyable, only downside being it took nearly 20 min to get a take out order while ordering inside. Honestly 12+ people working in the grilling/front counter and drive through window. My order was simple and not complicated, other than the long wait time the visit was positive and enjoyable!

Take my advise and verify your order when you finally recieve it. 9 times outta 10, its not gonna be right… And as hard as I try to be nice and respectful with staff, the majority of them seem to have bad, negative attitude, especially when you address a issue. Yesterday, after I complained that I ordered the fajita chicken taco without veggies, and recieved with veggies, the girl in window, was very rude, and it took forever to get my corrected taco back (after I honked my horn a few times…). Then I was worried that they may have spit in my taco or something, so I didnt eat it! Then the manager came out and spoke to me briefly and gave me a choc chip cookie (Ha!), and said come back tomorrow and I’ll take care of you. I went back the next day, and he saw me while I was ordering, and didnt say anything, like he didnt know me… What a fraud. This whataburger sucks!!! For real.

Food came out hot. That’s where anything good ends. It better have been hot, waiting over 20 minutes for a kids meal – 2 chicken strips, fries, and a cookie. When she brought the food to my car she said “sorry for the wait. Everything is in there” umm, it should be. Guess what? No cookie. What a joke. Only 2 cars ahead of me and 3 people inside, so not busy.

Service was great . They seem to train the employees to be way more help than most fast food spots . Had the bacon burger and chicken strip sandwich.. both were fresh and big portions for the money . Definitely enjoyed the food . First time trying them which they had locations in Michigan

Walked in very busy. Was pleased to see it was busy. Ordered. Waited for 30 minutes before food came out. Whataburger is not fast food, it is slower than congress deciding on a budget. It might get shutdown. Lemonade was out the whole time even after we asked several times for it to be refilled. Left with no drink.

Small but nice location on the main Blvd in SPI. It’s open at night to prevent starving at all times. My whataburger was fresh, with brioche bun and mustard, how it supposed to be. For me it seemed like the burgers shrunk. Unfortunately the burger also lighter then usually or years before. So I was kinda surprised and didn’t meet my Value for money expectations. The restaurant was clean, so way the parking lot.

This is a terrible restaurant. Our order was totally wrong.. not a little bit but half of our order was incorrect, no labels on food, no straws, no napkins. Food services should be taken seriously enough to at least get it 90% correct. Its clear the kitchen staff doesn’t care about quality control. At least it wasn’t soggy..

Very rude employee in the drive-thru. When I asked about my order, I was told multiple times that it was ready, yet it took an additional 45 minutes to come out. When I finally received it, the order was completely wrong, and I wasn’t even given a receipt.
After waiting almost 2 hours with no line at 5:00 AM, my husband had to get out of the vehicle to ask about our order. Instead of helping, the employee screamed at him for getting out. This was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. Overall, very disappointing customer service and poor communication.
