Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

After fishing on the pier for a while my husband and I wanted a quick drink and snack before heading back to our hotel. Well picking Whataburger was a MISTAKE.
We ordered 2 large fries a half sweet and unsweet tea and a coke with easy ice.
We pulled up to the 2nd window and got our drink then were told to pull up. My tea was hot and had no ice at all. Then we proceeded to WAIT FOR 30 MINUTES!!!!! While waiting we watched several cars behind us get food. Then the person in front of us and the person beside us. We were still waiting! Then a lady came out and asked for the name of our order. After that our cashier was handing another car behind us the order when asking what the hold up was we got “what did y’all have?” Finally our fries came out but they were not even hot. SOGGY AND ROOM TEMP! So what was the 30 minute wait for??? Got back to the hotel and the fries are two different sizes. What a joke.

We ate here on September 11,2025. Restaurant was clean inside and out including the restrooms. Employees were very nice and working hard. Burgers were fresh but a little dry. Recommend a little mayo or sauce.

Literally just waited for over 30 minutes for 2 kids meals. Employees came out on several occasions clearly confused as to what order belonged where. When I finally got the kids meals the fries were cold and soggy and the meal that was supposed to come with BBQ sauce came with gravy. Definitely one of the the most frustrating fast food experiences I’ve ever had in my life.

My went into the restroom before placing my order, the sinks had hairs all over. I got out and placed an order over the drive thru. It was a very long wait. I received my order with toppings that I specifically asked not to be added. The chicken was burnt. I had to ask the guy for my receipt twice. I he didn’t even give me a cup holder till I asked for it. I called and spoke to Jose “the manager”. I explained that I drove 30 mins from and to their location. I asked for a refund and he said he had to see the burger. I offered to text him a picture or that he could face time me. He didn’t want to do either. He kept saying “I’m taking my time to hear you out ma’am I want to help you” yet he kept talking over me the whole time and didn’t seem to understand that I was 30 mins away. Horrible horrible! Worst customer service ever!! This is the chicken after I tried so much to remove the burnt skin. I gave up and left it like that. Here is your physical evidence Jose!
This is an addition to my review called back twice after leaving the review and the so called manager Jose is refusing to take my calls!

I was doing something at Port Isabel, so me and my family stopped at this Whataburger, and the food is really good, service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The #13 chicken strip combo I got was delicious (attached is a photo of it). This is one of the really great Whataburger locations.

Took 15 min to get my food while they repeatedly asked me if I had it under another name. Then proceeded not to hand me a drink til I after I got my food. Usually I get a free item like a pue or something for waiting after my wait time. Y nada. No apologies tampoco. 0 stars if I could.

Waited for over 20 minutes for our order and it never arrived, as well as requested if the coffee machine could be refilled because we paid for coffees yet still no refill either even tho they said they’d refill. My sister got her eyes rolled at simply for asking. Others who came after us also got their orders before us so we’ve decided to simply ask for a refund. All in all horrible experience sadly. I tried to be understanding but the manager herself told us they dropped our order because “more important orders came in.” I dont really know how someone else’s order is more important when we’re all simply costumers; yet they were extremely rude to us, specifically the manager of the place. Never got an apology either, just dismissed. 0/10 experience, they could do better with choosing who’s manager that knows how to do their job and run their coworkers. I dont recommened going because someone else’s order may be more important than yours to the point they cancel your order.

Arrived late night (10:50pm on Sunday 12/23/18) with only 1 customer ahead of us.
Our order took approximately 17 mins to get to us. We ordered Double Meat Whataburger and a Grilled Chicken Sandwich. We should have had it within 6-7mins top, especially with no customers.
Food did come out hot (a plus) then we had issues with my meal.
Asked for sub mayo and got mayo & mustard. Asked for bacon, got no bacon.
Took it back and explained the issues. They heard me out and decided to remake it. A+ for resolving my issue correctly.
Overall what seemed as a bad experience, turned out to be a good experience.

My family and I were in the area and went through the drive-thru in the outer lane, placed our order with a worker and were not serviced after about 10 or so minutes until I got done and asked about our order as no worker approached us. Then when they gave us our food, they forgot our drinks! Worse service I’ve had at a Whataburger and will probably not come here again. Only redeeming factor is them giving us a free drink (after walking inside to let them know about our drinks) for the “inconvenience”.
