Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

It was my first time in Liberty, Tx and Donni was extremely kind and helpful with the menu options, even over the drive-thru speakers. Perfect service, tasty food, and adequate temperature!

The service was great, and if it weren’t for that, unfortunately, I would give this Whataburger experience two stars. I went through the drive-thru, and the attendant took her time and patiently took my order. There was a long line, which made it a long wait time. She was friendly despite some unnecssary attitudes from other customers she received. I learned she’d been working there for many years.

I ordered the Whataburger fish sandwich, chicken tenders, and two large fries. Everything was very dry. My mouth needed water to wash the food down after every bite. And halfway through my fish sandwich, I found a hair strand on my lettuce. I was done after that.

I wanted to visit a Whataburger since hearing about it a while ago, and I’m disappointed this was my first experience. Thankfully, there are other locations, so I’m willing to give them another try.

Edit. We ordered at 6:24pm. Didn’t get the food until 6:52pm and after we both stated multiple times the burger needed cheese on it, they still proceeded to forget the cheese on my husbands burger after charging us for it. Good grief. Idk how this location is even open still. Thier sales have to be awful

It’s not busy yet it’s taken 20 minutes and we still have not received our food. When asked about it, we were told they are still working on it. Definitely not great customer service when it comes to making meals quickly when it’s fast food. We could have ordered pizza and already picked that up on a busy Friday night when they are slammed and it wouldn’t haven’t taken as long as it is here right now.

Great service everyone is so nice. Multiple employees check on you. Honestly the friendliest service I’ve ever had at a fast food restaurant. You can tell they are all like family. I love whataburger in general. But this location made it just that much better. Thk you!!!

Wow! Used to really like this location. Went through the drive through. We ordered a double meat Jr burger with catsup and mustard, loaded; and a double meat Whataburger, both combos. Jr. Burger was literally thrown together. When I opened the Jr burger lettuce, pickes, onions and ketchup was outside the sandwich and all over the paper wrapping. One side of the bun was coated with ketchup on the outside. Total mess. I would like to have taken a pic you so all could see the unbelievable. As it was, we had to pull over to fix it or it would have been all over the inside of our car! When we got to the fries, they were unusually light in color. That’s because they were undone, soggy, cold and raw! Yuck! $25 for this? We won’t be returning.

Great service, Miss Cheryl is amazing! One thing I’ve noticed and heard several people ask about, is why employees aren’t utilized and set up in positions that allow them to be successful and optimal. Why not have the younger more youthful employees outside in the car lane, with the more seasoned and mature employees on the inside. Even the employee at the window today for the drive-through, could barely see over-the-counter to hand food out to customers. As leadership we have to set our employees up for success. Overall, a great place to get food from.

Being a generation passed employee from a Whataburger . I am sadden to see that my order was not only cooked in old grease once but twice in 3 days. The second time I went to get it redone. And looks like it’s worse. The lettuce mind you was old. And the fries too cooked in old oil. They put a lil extra salt so you can’t tell. Then as I walk in an employee didn’t even bother to say hi how are you doing. She just sawe with a receipt and with and attitude said oh no I’m not dealing with this. This Whataburger is located on hwy 90 in Liberty tx. Please do not eat there. I would suggest you didn’t. I’m not even going to try and get it fixed again wasn’t worth my drive over there to eat. The manager was nice but even he should know it was old oil.

I walked into the store the worker screamed
Nooooo
I asked if they were open she hesitated then said yes I asked her why she said no shee said
Because the kitchen was talking mess about someone in the front i don’t know if it’s you or the other guy
I stayed quiet waiting for my uncle to walk in
She then rushed me and asked me if I was just gonna stand there or not . My uncle walked in and seen her questioning me and asked her about the food and why she was upset we walked in she then said the kitchen was talking mess about us and she promised they wouldn’t do anything to the food (unprovoked) rushing us to order . So we walked out of there not wanting to eat at a Whataburger where they lack common sense. And respect

I purchased the new buffalo wings for the first time this evening. I’m struggling to understand why they don’t automatically come with a thing of ranch dressing? I am baffled that after having paid over $12 freaking dollars for these wings, you would want an additional 91 cents for a small tub of ranch dressing. Who eats wings without ranch dressing? For the money, you should have included the ranch. It would only seem reasonable to ask at the time of order, “do you want some ranch dressing?”, especially if you plan to charge the CC twice and hold up the line even longer. After having waited almost 30 minutes to get my food, the last thing I wanted to do was hang around for an extra minute for you to run my credit card again to get your 91 cents for the ranch. Good grief, do better.

Gotta be the worst whataburger in Texas. They can be fully staffed and will still mess something up in the order every time OR have you waiting in line a half hour for the simplest order. The regular whataburger is drowned in mustard. It doesn’t even taste right. One time I asked for a burger dry they gave me a burger with only meat, cheese, bread and… Mustard.
