Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

This Whataburger location is a masterclass in how to lose customers.

The drive-thru worker is consistently rude, cold, and visibly annoyed every single time I come here. This was not a bad night or a misunderstanding. This is a pattern. Tonight she took it to a new level with zero greeting, pure attitude, and the kind of body language that screams “I hate customers and I’m daring you to complain.”

When the food finally showed up after an unreasonably long wait, it was cold, soggy, and clearly sitting around. Nothing fresh. Nothing worth the wait. Just a sad bag of disappointment.

The manager’s excuse? “We’re only two people here tonight.” That’s not leadership, that’s deflection. Staffing problems are a management issue, not a customer problem. Being short-handed does not excuse rudeness, neglect, or serving food that should’ve been thrown away. If two people can’t run the drive-thru properly, shut it down instead of punishing customers for your internal failures.

No apology. No accountability. No attempt to fix anything. Just excuses and indifference.

This place doesn’t have a service problem, it has a standards problem. The fact that this behavior is allowed tells me exactly how little management cares.

I frequently see Mercedes and she is one of the friendliest as well as most professional individuals there. This location is fantastic! I have always seen exceptional customer service from the employees and the manager El Haj. I recognize that they deal with many tough situations, especially in this area! Mercedes and Diana are some of my favorite here!

I’m a DoorDash driver and every whataburger it’s not just this one when I have to pick up an order late at night the quality of the staff that is employed well lets just say I could get better service from a trained monkey if it’s gonna take you 30 minutes to make two burgers, y’all need to remove that label fast food from your establishment you can do better than that whataburger

This whata is awful!!! I’ve ordered around the times of 2am and they ALWAYS get my order wrong I dont understand HOW. I ask for no tomatoes or onions and they slather it on still. And god forbid I get two different burgers because they’ll slap the sticker for the right burger on it, then slap another sticker on top of that one for the 2nd burger??? This leads to me getting two burgers with the same build so I never get what I ordered and it’s extra stuff I did not want. I’m allergic to tomato and they never fail to ignore the instructions that says NO TOMATOES. Whoever is working the hours of 2am and 3am needs to be checked cause what are you on. This has happened 5 times in the same week.

$30 for a meal that was wrong with cold fries and cold burgers. Wow Whataburger is going downhill fast. We were literally the only customers in the drive and there was no one inside either and the food still took a wait and came out wrong.

My go-to location, but with one caveat – DO NOT try going on Friday nights. The parking lot is regularly invaded by literally hundreds of high school teenager milling around, making the location essentially inaccessible. And of course these kids don’t yield or move for vehicles. Meanwhile they’re doing burnouts, partying, etc. Just give up on getting the late night Whataburger fix on Fridays from this location.
