Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Very good generous workers! That makes the environment better enjoying a nice meal. The person taking over the register and even helped us with our issue with food. Got right away on it to make us happy. Come here for a nice time and Hard working people making the food. We appreciate every single one of them .

Typical Whataburger food quality although had to go up and get ketchup since they didn’t bring the tray out with the meal. The cashier was friendly but the workers in the back and the manager were extremely loud and annoying discussing cleaning things, competitions, joking, etc. They appeared to be fully staffed with just a few folks dining in; however, the dining area was gross. It was hard to find a table that didn’t have trash on it or was just filthy from not being wiped off. There were fries, napkins, condiments all over the floor as seen in the pictures as well.

I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich about 30 minutes ago. It tasted fine at first, but then I noticed the lettuce tasted rotten. Everything else was good, but that completely ruined the experience for me.

Took my husband to this store at 5am in the morning at the w. university location on Thursday 11/28/25. and let me tell you they treated us like we were at a 5 star sit down restaurant even tho we were in the Drive- thru. Everything was Hot fresh! Excellent Customer service!

This may be about tonights experience but MANY MANY other times similar other things have happened. We pull up and order no issue. When we pull the the second window they hand us our drinks they are soaked in soda. So we ask for napkins. While I am trying to not get myself and my car soaked in it, the girl at the window while walking away from us yells for us to go to spot two for curbside pickup. Mind you they ARE NOT BUSY. I am drying off my drinks and my hands and this takes no more than 20 seconds someone comes, and trys to push me to the spot while I am activly drying things off. I just looked at them and said do not see that I am drying off the stuff the staff soaked in soda? I do not want this in my car. Then I stop for all of 5 seconds to throw the soaked napkins in the trashcan and someone comes running over to me (the same girl who yelled at us to go the spot) telling me I have to go to spot 2. Yet again with trash in my hand actively throwing something away they are doing this. I just looked at her and stated do not see I am doing something?? She looked frazzled that I talked back. Like BRO situational awareness is a thing.

Me and my friend came by for lunch and the staff was as so so nice!!! The workers were nice taking our order, and bringing it to us! They checked on us twice and even the manager came by each table to greet everyone and ask if we needed refills. I have never felt more appreciated and welcomed in any fast food restaurant before this! We even had an employee take our trash for us! Best experience ever, would highly recommend coming here <3

What can I say… what a delicious burger. it’s been years since I had Whatabutger and it was better than I remember. The gentleman who took our order and delivered the food to the table was very nice. Offered us extra sauces and napkins.

This location really stands out! As someone that eats enough Whataburger to know, I can say that recent changes in management just made it even better! I order online for pickup and it’s always “hi Mr. Mike” from everyone, even those that didn’t directly deal with me! On my way out the newer manager (Latina)walked by outside and told my by with my name, and she didn’t touch my order!

Above and beyond what I have come to expect from any restaurant, much less fast food! I drive out of my way to come to this location!

The food here is always on point as well!

The burger was over cooked and clearly sat on the grill. The lettuce had ice cubes in it. It’s wataburger. This quality is not the norm but today was poorly delivered. I’ll go back but hope this location will get better.

I visited on 2/27/25 and had the worst fast food experience of my life. First, my order was brought out without the cheese I paid extra for AND a straight up ICE CUBE in the middle of my burger. Not a frozen patty, just a big pebble ice cube from the soda machine. Fortunately an older woman came out and tried to hand me someone else’s order (?) and I notified her of the issue. She made an incredibly offensive comment about there being “too many and not enough ” in the kitchen, but she brought my burger back inside. After over 7 minutes I got a replacement.

This time, I checked and while the cheese was there… there was ANOTHER ICE CUBE. See photos. At this rate, I brought it inside to get yet another replacement. The manager of back of house came out and let me know she would personally be remaking the order, and they tossed the second burger.

She brought me my burger for the third time (no offers of a refund or complimentary food of any kind while I had been waiting for now over 20 minutes) and I brought it out to my car. This time, while it had cheese and thank GOD no ice, it had PICKLES, which I do not eat and specifically requested to be taken off.

I couldn’t bring myself to wait any longer, so I tossed the burger and went without lunch for the day. Avoid this location at all costs!
