Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

Went through drive thru. Ordered as you can see order was taken correctly. But whoever was making it , cannot read You’d think it would be easy to put a few condiments on a burger they have been making for years. But nope. Major fail again. Night and day from what I ordered and what I got. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

We were greeted as soon as we entered the store. I ordered a number 2 with Mayo added and my partner ordered a number 1 with Mayo added. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The Unsweet Tea was very fresh. The burgers were made to perfection and tasted fantastic. The fries hot and fresh. We found the restaurant was clean as were the restrooms. We will return again soon.

After a few days of being in the house due to the icy roads. My kids were craving some fast food. I decided to get dressed and drive up to this location. The lines were extremely long, but I expected that. I didn’t mind waiting for a hot meal. After waiting so long I assumed the order was correct, so I headed home. Little did I know they destroyed a $36.00 order. The chicken sandwiches were prepared wrong. I asked for a Dr. Pepper, they game me Diet Dr. Pepper. The icing on the cake was they forgot my 5 year old chicken bites. He was so sad, poor kid. Perhaps you guys need to go across the street and take notes at Chick-fil-A and see how to take an order and verify customers are getting what they ordered. Lesson learned. Next time I’m sitting at the window and checking my food on the spot.

I had their chicken strips & fries meal. The chicken was tasty but the chicken and fries were just warm, not hot and fresh.
There were several employees working but the restaurant was very dirty. At the time of our visit there was only 1 other customer sitting in the dinning room. Every table that I noticed was dirty, including the one that we used. There was grease smeared in several places on our table and other food debris. There was garbage on the floor throughout the restaurant as well.
If the employees would have invested more time into wiping down tables and picking up trash instead of standing around chitchatting and playing around with each other, I would have given it more stars. The thing is, because there were so few customers dining inside, they could have cleaned the place up and then stood around talking and goofing off.

Restaurants should never be dirty, this place was DIRTY.

I meant to share this on Sunday but completely forgot. I wanted to brag on the Whataburger in Rowlett. They were short-staffed that morning, but you would have never known it. Every team member was upbeat, incredibly kind, and working together seamlessly — from the sweet young woman who took my order, to the staff handling payments, to the person who brought out my food, and of course those working hard in the kitchen.

I also want to acknowledge the customers in line. Everyone was patient, respectful, and understanding. Not a single negative comment or frustrated look. It was truly refreshing to see, especially in a world where people can be so quick to react negatively.

A Texas tradition for me for more than 60 years. Now as a senior I get a free drink with my meal. The large onion rings are my new staple, and the featured burger of the season is always a great choice. I am amazed that I still can wear my high school letter jacket. Maybe it’s because I don’t get out early enough to get the breakfast platters. I adore the sausage gravy. If you can’t decide on a burger, grab a chicken fingers box! No Regrets. Eat In if you can to avoid dripping gravy in your lap and then some goes to waste, literally. Ho Ho Ho

My family and I ordered breakfast this morning , we parked in the drive up parking spot. Isaac walked out with our coffee’s first. Isaac was super friendly and very respectful. Apologized for the delay, even though there wasn’t too long of a wait. He had to be the nicest employee we’ve ever had bring us food, it was 7:45 a.m. and he was so friendly and professional. As Isaac walked away to go check on the food my husband and I looked at each other and we both were very impressed with how nice he was. Isaac showed such great customer service skills, it goes to show we don’t ever expect it anymore. Thank you Isaac for making our morning, you’re such a professional young man!

I completely understand waiting during lunch hour. That is expected and no big deal. What bothered me was the lack of basic customer service. Today, at 12:31 PM, I pulled up to the far-right payment line. I greeted the employee with a hello, but received no response. I handed over my cash and they walked away without a word. When they came back with my change, it was the same thing, no acknowledgment. A few minutes later, my food was handed over with just a quick “here you go,” and again, nothing else.

Customer service is about more than just handing someone their order. It is the attitude and interaction that make a difference. A simple smile, greeting, or thank you goes a long way. Unfortunately, this experience felt cold and dismissive, which is disappointing from a place I usually enjoy.
