Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

P.S.: Thanks to all yall at this store; they need to make you all a training store cause other stores need some help. Be blessed
Made it here today on our way, for the old times sake but it lost the charm. Chicken feels like rubber with funny smell, not the same old gold any more!
So when things calmed down I called and the rockstar Mrs Dolores was soooo calm and professional and just a great person explained to me just come back with the receipt and the whole team on notice we will take care of it….any time any day…. Wow lo and behold that was exactly the case….we went she was off but they knew and made me and my tummy whole!!! Well done and thank you from back in 2021 to now we will never forget!!!! They threw a new drink for my inconvenience which was refreshing!
I wish more places were open 24 hours, but Whataburger being one of them is an absolute blessing. No matter the time of day, this place has ya covered. Pro-tip: you can add bacon and tomatoes to the grilled cheese, makes a really cool side dish or snack. This is also my favorite place to pick up food after lifting weights, most of their entrees are over 30g protein and it’s more palatable than having another protein shake. The chicken strip sandwich is great, and I’m glad they do chicken strips instead of nuggets. Loads of sauces to choose from, depending on your mood.
I wish they’d bring back the A1 Thick & Hearty, and some of their other special burgers from the past. The patty melt, avocado bacon burger, Monterey melt and standard cheeseburgers loaded with toppings are great, but the A1 T&H in particular… that was so perfect. Speaking of perfect, the “ranchero style” breakfast burger might be the single best burger I’ve ever had. If you can handle a little spice, give it a try!
A friend of mine visited from another country a few months ago, and earlier today he said that he missed the ranchero breakfast burger and the patty melt the most out of everything he had in the USA. He agreed they’re essentially the burger, perfected.
Today, I was not very hungry, so I tried the Junior Burger. These days, many fast food joints skimp on the vegetables. That was not my experience today! This was a juicy burger with plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles! Even though it was the smaller version it packed BIG taste!
I did have to pull up and wait alittle which is undesirable, but it was worth the wait.
