Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I have been visiting Whataburger locations throughout Texas for the last 10 years and have never once experienced service the way it was at this location.
My order was not taken seriously, and once I gave my request, her response was, “You done?”
I got to the window and made my payment with a $10 bill. She asked me to pull forward. I asked for my change, and she handed me one dollar while playing and talking with the “shift leader,” which is what I overheard her title was. When I grabbed the dollar from her, I looked at her and said, “Is there not any loose change?” She looked at me and said, “We just don’t have it.”
Given it was only two cents, she just thought it was okay not to inform me, I guess.
I told her it was fine and pulled forward. A moment later, someone walked out and said, “Here ya go,” holding up a bag, which had to be mine, so I grabbed it without checking first and pulled around to park. When I put my hand in the bag to grab the burger, it was literally completely unwrapped. The only thing still in the wrapper was the bottom bun. Not to mention, it wasn’t even what I ordered.
When I went back inside to speak with a manager, the shift leader tried to handle it, but I didn’t allow it because I feel that if she had been doing her job in the first place and checking bags before they went out—rather than joking around and possibly being a distraction rather than a leader—I wouldn’t be writing this review.
However, when the manager on duty finally came to the front, his name was David, and he was very understanding and professional. He asked me how I wanted to handle the situation. I simply told him I wanted my money back, and he did not hesitate.
This location definitely needs some attention from HQ.

Girl taking orders math was off a bit, fry boy was kinda unprofessional… but them 2 guys on the grill! Man! They made a dang good burger.. worth a small wait cause a rush.

This was the worst burger and fries I ever had from any whataburger.the fries aren’t even half full,the hamburger lettuce was wilted and tomato seemed old ,and when I try to cut it in half the meat was hard. The pictures are what I got nice and cold and my shake taste awful. I was so disappointed

Wonderful lunch stop! The meal was delicious, bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly and quick to get us our order. The seating area is quite nice and was not too crowded. Whataburger is such a treat, they don’t have them where we live!

I ordered a sweet & spicy bacon burger which comes with grilled onions as shown on their menu. I received this burger which almost appears as a regular double meat cheeseburger. I ordered this burger because it is usually more flavorful than basic burgers, but to my disappointment it barely had any sauce in it & no onions. Very inconvenient & frustrating for me on my hour of lunch.

It was an ok fast food burger. I found the patty to be over cooked and dry. The toppings were fresh but scarce. The brioche bun was very fresh and delicious. I’m not going to be thinking about going back anytime soon.

Everyone was nice and friendly…especially Dreka (she was super helpful). I didn’t have any issues with the staff here. However, Whataburger seriously needs to improve their system that transmits app orders…I walked up a couple of minutes AFTER my order was supposed to be ready and was told that it had just come through! SMH!!!
