Reviews
I live like 500 yards from the location.
I have tried patronizing store probably 10 times since they opened. Tonight, I asked the man in the adjoining drive thru lane to allow me to slide past him so I could “escape”.
That’s the second time I’ve done that in 60 days… Last time, I actually jumped the curd to get out of the drive through lane.
I never actually ordered either time… Because I waited and waited to even be acknowledged at the speaker.
Look, it’s Whatsburger: I know they are slow. They make everything fresh. But this location is horrendously slow.
And the employees evidently don’t care about it.
Additionally, the Whataburger app is total trash too. I’m 64… meaning, I’m not totally techno savvy. But I have 5 or 6 other fast food apps on my phone… And I have no trouble using their apps.
I know that the local store people have no control over the phone app. But, I try to use it to offset the aforementioned horrendously slow service at the store. I’ve tried atleast 5 times, including tonight… No success!
Come on Whataburger, get it together!
This was my first time eating at Whataburger in Sulphur, and it definitely won’t be my last! From the moment I pulled up to the drive-thru, the experience was amazing. Brandon, who was working the drive-thru, absolutely made my visit. He has such great energy and a genuinely good spirit—it’s rare to come across someone who makes you smile just by taking your order!. Keep up the good work Brandon and Red Turns Heads
There’s several customers inside. No less than 4 employees. No greeting. No one at the counter. None of the customers look happy. 2 customers look hella unhappy. Orders have to be taken at the kiosk, glad I wasn’t paying cash as it doesn’t take cash. Got the Jalapeno Melt combo with onion rings, that new Mexican Chocolate shake, and a fry, ketchups, chicken taco and a jalapeno ranch sauce to go with it. You TELL the kiosk what sauce and how many.
TWENTY. EIGHT. MINUTES. LATER…
Guy comes out with a to go bag (it was For Here per the kiosk). Mentioned that I ordered a shake to go with it. Looks at receipt, confirmed it, goes back to kitchen to get it.
Open bag to start eating as surely a shake takes 60 seconds to make and bring to table… no onion rings. No ketchup. No jalapeno ranch sauce. No napkins either.
I’ll tell him about that when he comes back, start eating.
He. NEVER. Comes back.
I dry ate the frys, the taco and the Jalapeno Burger and walk up to the counter to get my shake and onion rings. 10 minutes pass before someone (the guy who forgot me) from the back comes out to give someone their food and I tell him I still want my shake and onion rings. He gets someone else to make the shake as he goes deeper into the kitchen to, I assume, to make a large onion ring order. Other person hands me the shake, I can finally put the fire out in my mouth from the jalapeno burger and now I just wait for the rings.
Ten more minutes pass.
Nothing walks out from that kitchen.
I left. Walked out of there $35 poorer at 9:10 pm. Nothing fast about this fast food.
For $35 I could get a steak somewhere.
I’ll never eat there again.
You’ve created an anti-customer for life. When someone in the group brings up going to this location, their going to hear this story.
This review will make the rounds on social media. Others should be warned not to come here.
Every Whataburger I’ve ever been to in Texas was exceptional. The gold standard in not just what a Whataburger should be, but what a fast food restaurant anywhere should be.
I’ve been to this location no less than 5 times since it’s opening. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night- didn’t matter when, every visit has gotten somehow WORSE than the time before.
You have failed this city, and any poor unfortunate soul who stumbles into your location.
Shut it down. Recruit new people. Train them. Reopen.
Update: I never received my food. I gave up after another 20 minutes waiting. One wonders why they bother keeping the lobby open if they’re not going to serve any customers. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card.
