Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I don’t know why this location gets such a bad rap but my experience was PHENOMENAL!!!

Every single one of the crew was nice, professional and friendly, and a couple of them even went above and beyond to satisfy me and make sure I had everything that I wanted and needed. From management, to the kitchen and the front counter, everyone did a great job.

Also, this was my first time in a long time ordering anything from the breakfast menu. I ordered a Sausage, Egg and Cheese jalapeno cheddar buiscuit, and a Breakfast Platter with bacon, and both were great. If I am in there area again, I’ll make sure I save room in my stomach for another bite to eat here! First time eating at the Opelousas location, but definitely not the last. They took care of me like a FAMILY MEMBER

I have to think about this. Burgers were solid. Fries 3.5 star, and I still enjoyed them.

I guess the only reason for my “mediocre” score might be *my customer error. I ordered the triple burger combo for $13.99 and the front server asked me if I wanted cheese and bacon. I guess. I didn’t realize it was $6 extra (maybe 4) bc it was $1/slice of cheese. Uhhh….I didn’t hear the total (for both combo) bc I thought she said $30 but it was $39.

The only real feedback is to announce it’s $1/slice for a total of x3 slices when I only wanted ONE slice of cheese. Sigh.

I normally do not leave Google reviews and I’ve never left a negative review before. However, the service I just received and the time I just waited was extraordinary unacceptable. I went inside, used the bathroom and ordered two combos and a sandwich and drink and paid $44+. Going inside was my mistake. Aside from being surprised by the cost that seemed excessive for three hamburgers, and I do not mind spending money on food at all, we waited over thirty minutes to receive our to go meal. I noticed that the two people that ordered before me, and waited equally as long, had apparent issues with the orders they received. Our experience was no different. My wife and mother-in-law both were given orders that were wrong. Perhaps if the woman I assumed was the manager spent less time smoking cigarettes in the parking lot, on an I pad and more time inside leading her team, then the results might be better. I’ll end by pointing to the positives – our fries were hot, the facility was clean and the people who were in the drive through appeared to receive their food quickly.

I love Whataburger.. Its just the prices are a little steep..I wanted the Limited time Fajita wrap, One wrap alone was almost $9 so I decided not to get it..but got my burger which was very good.. Friendly staff. Very clean

Waited 20 minutes for a cold burger and fries. What’s worse, when I brought it to manager’s attention, she tried to tell me the burger was freshly made. Waited another 15 minutes after requesting a freshly made burger, this one only the buns were warm and the there was an unusual amount of ketchup on the burger. Also, no one was at the front counter to take our order, we just gave up and used the kiosk. Terrible for $10 a burger I’ll think twice before ever going to a Whataburger again, and will never go to this one again.

Super clean restaurant. The staff could not be MORE friendly. The manager, Lakethia, was on the register and a delight to chat with. The server, Escobar, was also one of the nicest gentlemen ever to meet. This is location has been here for almost a year but they are knocking it out of the park with their service.

Service is non existent. And because of the fact the front order area is a kiosk you can tell the workers don’t care to actually come out in the store and make sure it’s clean Lliterally every table looks gross and bathroom has the cleaner brush knocked over with toilet paper strolled out everywhere. It sucks because it’s a cute looking newer whataburger. Working staff also does not have a welcoming attitude at all like I feel if I ask a question I’d be yelled at. The feeling of this place is like no one in here wants to be here like VERY SAD. One worker finally came out to pick stuff up and just proceeded to pick up a straw wrapper a napkin and throw around slamming some trays. It fr looks like nothing in here gets wiped down or anything. This place literally IS depressing! Not to mention the burger was the saddest whataburger I’ve ever seen bread was NOT good and patties could barely even been seen in the bread. They literally were so small. The taste was not good either. I will NOT be back!

Depends on when & what time you order from here. The 1st time was excellent service and the food was damn near perfect. Last night when I got our food to go, we’ll folks we are literally not even 3 miles from the whataburger. So it took hardly no time getting the food there.
The French fries wasn’t fresh at all. The burgers wasn’t all that good either. $35 waisted down the drain tonight. ☹️

Waited over 40 minutes for two burgers, never got my food and the drinks were nasty so i had to go in for a refund. When i went back to my car for the receipt a worker came out running with my food then got mad when i said i nolonger wanted it and wanted a refund instead. This place is a joke

I had a great experience both times I visited this location. My fries were hot like straight out of the fryer. The Melt I ordered was delicious. The only thing was my Lemonade was a little watery but they replaced it with Sprite so I was happy.
