Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

My first time tasting the Bacon Wrangler and honestly I wish I would’ve waited. This place serves some mediocre burgers. Not only did it take 13 minutes to hit the table but the fries were cold and dry with overcooked burger patties, barely any bacon and unmelted cheese. The lobby was kept pretty clean though and the Strawberry Malt is extra good. Although it’s questionable why a small costs $2 more than a medium on the kiosk.

If you’re just looking for “a burger,” this might not be your place.

Because what shows up at your table isn’t a burger — it’s a handcrafted masterpiece that clearly went to finishing school. Perfectly stacked, ridiculously juicy, and built like it has something to prove. One bite in and you’ll wonder why you ever settled for drive-thru mediocrity.

And the fries? Golden, crispy, and seasoned with the exact amount of salt that makes you say, “Okay… who’s back there paying this much attention?”

The service is next level. They don’t just check on you — they spoil you. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it. You feel less like a customer and more like royalty who casually decided to grab a burger.

Bottom line: come hungry, come humble, and prepare to have your burger standards permanently ruined.

The food at Whataburger is one of my guilty pleasures. I think their burger really is the best. Whataburger is doing everything right by me except for one thing. I have a big issue with the service. Even when we order ahead on the app, we have to wait 5-10 minutes for our food. We do it, it’s worth it but I feel like it’s totally unnecessary.
If you’re not in a hurry, then I recommend Whataburger for you. It’s so good!

Such a waste of time.

We were heading to the Opry Resort for an event and stopped by this location. It had been a while, so we decided to go through the drive-thru and grab some food. It was around 10:30, and there was literally only one car waiting in the drive-thru.

We placed our order and waited. It took 15–18 minutes to get our food. The staff never checked on us or said anything about the long wait. Finally, someone brought out our food and apologized. I asked if everything was in the bag, and they said yes, so we left since we were already running late.

Guess what? The food wasn’t hot enough to justify that long of a wait. I asked for spicy ketchup, but they only gave regular ketchup. On top of that, the cheese wasn’t even melted. It wasn’t cold, but it definitely wasn’t warm food either.

This just reminded me that Whataburger is just a regular franchise, not a unique place like In-N-Out or Shake Shack. If you’re a super fan of this burger, then sure—I won’t stop you from waiting for it. But if you’ve never tried it, you’re not missing anything. Seriously, nothing special.

If you’re going to try Whataburger, do it in Texas or Florida—not this location, for sure.

I stopped by around 5:30am after work to dine in and was met with very friendly staff and delicious, hot food! The night shift/early morning crew was awesome and welcoming. I also want to shoutout Brian who made sure I had everything I ordered and that it was all to my liking (I ordered a lot LOL). I even got to try the new frosted blueberry refresher and it was so so good! I definitely recommend dining in at this location!

This whataburger should just close, night shift is always slow. They can’t ever make your order in time. Their excuse is that they have a lot of mobile orders ahead. Yeah right. We never have this problem with any other Whataburger locations. What a waste of space, this should have been a different fast food place. On the app it says that your order will be ready in 3-6 mins but really you might be waiting up to 20-30. The place doesn’t ever look full, not curbside or even drive through late at night. This is the second time it’s happened. There was a lady standing in line in front of me waiting for someone to take her order she waited so long she gave up and ordered through the screen instead.

Took 12 minutes for them to get my order out after ordering ahead. Mind you there were no cars in the drive through. Then while I’m driving back to work I checked my bag just to find out that they forgot my fries. I was livid. I literally only have 30 mins for my break. I went back to go get them obviously. The manager was something, it was the face that got me and the tone. His excuse is they were in the middle of a shift change. So that’s why yall forgot my fries and it took yall forever to come out with the food initially when there was no one there. I felt like he had attitude. I asked what I could do to get my food faster since ordering ahead doesn’t seem to work and he said “just order through the app”. THAT’S WHAT I DID. I didn’t even get a chance to eat my food because that took all my time.

Night shift male manager with a pony tail is rude and unfriendly. How is he gonna act like it’s my husband’s fault that they forgot his fries on a pickup order that was scheduled ahead but he still had to wait over 10 minutes for in the drive through with literally NO CARS in line. I will pull out the dash cam footage if I have to. The manager didn’t even seem like he was sorry for the troubles, I could hear him through the phone. When people tell you they’re on a 30 minute break you could at least act like you’re really sorry for having bad service. But I guess he’s just really bad at his job. Customer service isn’t for you buddy. I would say who but we didn’t get the name and I tried calling the store immediately after to get a name but no one answered. Yikes.

The burger was delicious! The fries were pretty good as well. I always go for their delicious malts! Their Dr. Pepper malts are near impossible to beat! The service ran into a hiccup when a coupon mistake popped up, though. Just glad I was able to catch I was charged for two when I had a BOGO coupon.

Hey, I was at that location today. The man who taking order was very nice and they made my tripple with fries less than a minute. Really recommend that location.

PS: Whataburgers are bigger than Wendy’s or Mc Burger.
