Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Tonight was my first time, EVER, to any Whataburger location, and after hearing much hype about their burgers, I’ve come to the conclusion that their burgers are definitely “Whatever Burgers”. The region of the US I’m from there are no Whataburger restaurants and all I’ve had to go off on has been hearsay.
Their burgers are dry and heavily depend on the condiments to give them any flavor. Their fries are no better than fries from McDonald’s.
What they lack in quality, they make up for in quantity. Their patties are definitely large but lack flavor like said earlier. Their standard sized shakes are 32oz, which the largest shake I’ve seen from anywhere. Their fries are probably from the same McDonald’s supplier.
All I know is that there has been this huge online debate with Whataburger and how “good” their burgers are and I was sorely disappointed. I was expecting great fries and a burger full of flavor leaving me wanting more to come back again, but no. Whataburger is just a place to grab a bite to eat whenever you want to eat and don’t know what else to eat because nothing really sounds good and you just decide on Whataburger.
The staff and cleanliness of this particular location were both great. Staff were friendly and attentive and the environment was clean and welcoming.

I waited approx 1 hour for my food – which was 2 chicken sandwiches, an order of large onion rings, and apple sauce.
After receiving my order, I noticed the following issues:
-Medium onion rings instead of large
-missing apple sauce
-no chopped onions, instead I got jalapeños
Food was below average. Not necessarily bad, but not good at all.
This was my first experience at Whataburger. Sad to say I probably won’t be back, either at this location or the one near my home.

Welcome to Greensboro Whataburger. Took 15 minutes to make a breakfast “taquito”. Yeah. There was no one in front of me, and seven employees on their phones. Not sure what their angle on the market would be. Bojangles and Chick Fil A got them beat with chicken and breakfast. And their burgers look like and are priced like Burger King. After tasting their food, analyzing their menu prices and items, I would compare them most to Sonic. Not sure that it was wise to open so many locations at once.

Grand opening buzz aside, the Whataburger patty was solid, really hit the spot—fresh, juicy, and well-seasoned. But the fries were a letdown. You expect hot, crisp perfection on day one, and instead, they were tragically lukewarm and not crisp. It’s crazy that on their biggest day, the little things like fresh fries get totally overlooked when the burger itself is spot-on.

First time at Whataburger, huge disappointment. my double meat Whataburger was gray no crust and dry.
Fries were served hot and crispy! They also have spicy ketchup
I engaged with several employees all were very pleasant, polite and eager to provide great service.
The burger itself deserves 2 stars.

The reason for my one star review is because of the service at the service window waiting for my order. The first encounter was great with the customer service agents who took my order. The issue was with the customer service team who gave me my order. It was several people which one had to be a manager she was a tall heavy set dark skin woman who was over talking and giving unnecessary orders to the ones who was actually handling the orders and food which was causing some of confusion. Secondly my order was wrong and I paid extra for cheese. I was appalled it was wrong when it was on my receipt clear as day, what I ordered. Even though my order was wrong and incomplete it was still good and fresh.

Extremely slow service. This is not a fast food but a SLOW food restaurant. Please go to Chickfila next door to enjoy real fast food. Whataburger? What a joke! Never coming back here.

Stopped in when it wasn’t busy to finally see what the hype was about. Been the mid reviews, so wanted to justify it for myself.
Amazing, friendly service and greetings, but we went down hill after that point. How did they focus on having hot fries, but not at least a warm burger? May room temp at best. Might try again on another day. Scared to even think about breakfast.

terrible terrible terrible. if i could leave zero stars i absolutely would because even one star is too much. i dont know what it was about this specific day but the staff was so slow it was insane. sat in the dining room for two. hours. waiting for my order and i never got it. i asked four times if it was almost ready and every single time i just got a “we’re working on it” even after i asked for my money back they got defensive and wouldnt even let me have that. i had to leave because i was so tired of waiting. so i ended up walking out now angry, still hungry, and with $20 down the drain. absolute terrible service. would never visit this location again and it’s such a shame because i genuinely love the food from whataburger. maybe have your staff go back to training because two hours of waiting is ridiculous.

I had a double burger meal. I was the only one in line
I ordered at 11:08 and received my order at 11:25 much longer than I expected. For my drink I attempted a half sweet, unsweet tea but the joke was on me both dispensers were sweet.
Cashier didn’t seem overly happy to be there, fries were bland and the only thing notable about the burger was the mustard, I’ll pass there’s a lot better burgers and fries with less waiting.
