Nothing Happens
Can What the Pho’k ever be more than watery MSG flavored broth?
There was once a time around last year summer when I stumbled into what the Pho’k the first time I tried the broth it had everything I could ever ask from Pho the deep beefy flavor the whole spices especially star anise and the funk from the first sauce but since it’s popularity has grown amongst the quick lunch grabbing office goers of Farringdon – It has been on a steady decline especially the broth , It’s tepid and tastes like water mixed in with MSG , none of that original flavor that I once was a fan of they tried to overcompensate by adding newer dishes to the menu but none of them are a hit since they ALL USE THE SAME BROTH.
The broth tastes nothing like beef you’re more likely to get more beef flavor from store bought broth than this supposed “Pho” place all it tastes of is msg. Especially when there are far better options nearby especially Ngon Ngon which offeres much better “Pho” I would say miles ahead for a similar price point hence I see this place as redundant. They aren’t what they used to be.

Lovely little gem around Farringdon! I had a generous portion of the Bun Cha Nem, it was tasty, fresh and filling! The service were friendly and the restaurant, though tiny, felt very homely. For such affordable Vietnamese dishes, I will definitely love to try more in the future!

Absolutely delicious Pho in this tiny, charming, tongue-in-cheek restaurant. My friend had the garlic beef Pho, and I had the rare steak bon bu hue, and we had pork and prawn spring rolls to share. It was the perfect amount of food and the broth was delicious and so perfectly balanced. It’s rare that I don’t feel like adding any extra condiments, but this place nailed it. It was very lucky that we managed to get seats, its basically a bar shelf with a few stools, but with food this good I’m certain they’ll be moving to bigger venues before long. It was a shame there was no alcohol licence, but that also reflected on the prices, so it’s not a complaint – around £9 for some of the best Pho I’ve ever had….100% will be back again. Keep up the good work!!!

Amazing pho, super comforting on a cold day at an extremely good price. No notes, highly recommend.

The place is run by what appears to be a Vietnamese couple, and they were extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations of dishes. A down-to-earth establishment that is warm and welcoming, serving good food at a good price.

It might get a little cramped with how small it is, but a great place to grab a quick bowl of noodles alone or with a friend.

Amazing food! Loved the beef pho! Very well priced and very sweet staff!! They told us the pho broth cooks here for 12 hours to become really nutrient rich and healthy! It was delicious and super super satisfying to have on a chilly afternoon :))

I was on my way to collect my dinner from another restaurant when I accidentally passed by this amazing Vietnamese spot. I collected my dinner but decided not to eat it, and instead rushed back to catch them before they closed. The moment I laid eyes on this authentic Vietnamese spot, I knew I had to come back.

Tony and Alice, the warm and welcoming duo behind the counter, were incredibly accommodating. They took the time to explain their offerings and ensured my dietary preferences were met without any compromise. I opted for a prawn pho with veggie stock, and they made sure there was no cross-contamination with pork.

When the bowl of pho arrived, it was a revelation. The flavours transported me straight to Vietnam. Every bite was a blend of authenticity, freshness, and heartwarming comfort. The ambiance is cute and inviting, making you feel right at home.

This place is an absolute treasure for anyone seeking genuine Vietnamese cuisine. With its delectable dishes, warm hospitality, and unbelievably affordable prices, it’s bound to become the talk of the town. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable dining experience!

This shop is a hidden gem with authentic food and affordable price. I had the beef pho which was really good. The shop itself is very small with just a couple of seatings but the way the seats are arranged creates a sociable environment where you can chat with someone else.

Will definitely be back!
