Great staff and delicious food! I had the calamari and waffle fries with a blackberry basil lemonade. It was filling and the lemonade was very refreshing. Loved the basil. The food presentation was nice, with the newspaper theme and Tiffany-colored paper basket for your food. Be careful touching their counters though. They’re metal and therefore very hot without the shade or any protective cover.

Their place sits in front of the water feature and faces the waterfront, so you get great views with your meal.

The fish & chips were delicious. Super hot and crispy. Great tasting batter they use. The servers were super friendly and helpful. The river view is beautiful!

Very tasty! I had the 2 piece halibut and the beer batter was crispy and delicious. The fish inside was moist and flavorful. Partner had the crispy cod taco and it was also super tasty. Lots of flavor. My only gripe is that I think the taco should come with fries as well. The store bought chips aren’t the best. Oh and it would be nice if the tables were wiped down more often. Had to eat at quite a dirty table.

Located on the new Vancouver waterfront, What A Catch is truly a seasonal catch. Open in the spring -summer-fall time frames. Walkup ordering and eating is great for a quick bite at lunch or early dinner. Enjoy some good seafood while watching the river, boats and people strolling the walkways.

I paid for 2 pieces Alaska halibut Fish & Chip. But I was served with one and a half pieces. The fish is not fresh, nowhere near I had at Alaska. The tartar sauce is just mayo.

Came out to explore and decided to stop and try their halibut. We loved it. Not a long wait at all and everyone was friendly and nice. The jalapeno aioli is great. My only complaint is the fish needs just a touch of salt to take it all the way.

Food was amazing ( known for their fish & chips). Service was fast for me but not everyone. Live entertainment (guy with guitar) on Friday afternoon, he was really good and with his amplifier you could hear him sitting on the benches. Watching people and the boats go by on the river.

Because of the many negative reviews I called and asked to speak to the manager. I asked about food quality, quantity and the many negative reviews about small portions, great food and a horrible service experience.

My family of 10 went to try it out today
The fish in the kids meals portions were the size of a 50 cent piece and there was only 1 piece. The fish was VERY great, and we were told the drinks were refillable. It was a hundred degrees today.

The adult fish and chips were very small portions, {the manager said the fish were about the size of her hand}. I have small hands and they were smaller than mine!

Overall we spent 150+ for our meal and everyone left a little hungry.

Oh, and they would not refill it drinks. Turns out she said yes and he said no

The staff was friendly and helpful, the fish chips were delicious, crispy and flavorful, and the view of the river and green bridge was breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal with a great view.

2nd best fish and chips ever eaten just behind that one English bloke’s pub we found in Palma de Majorca. I got the Halibut and chips and the batter was pristine and the fries were flavored perfectly with a one-of-a-kind flavoring that left me wanting more. I can’t wait to go back.
