Yummy pretzel store in the fashion outlet mall of Chicago. Be careful of the parking especially on a weekend. Pretzels were fresh and soft. I thought it was a little salty, so for all the diabetics and hypertensives this is not the store to go to. Service was decent but the guy seemed disinterested in the work.

I have been coming to this Wetzel’s Pretzels at Fashion Outlet Mall for a long time and never had an issue before. Unfortunately, my last two visits were very disappointing and clearly reflect poor customer service from the newer staff.
On Friday, December 26, around 7:50 PM, I visited the store and asked if they could bake 5–7 fresh jalapeño pretzels, as the ones on display were clearly stale and there was only one left. The employee at the register (an Indian gentleman) rudely refused and said that although the mall closes at 9 PM, they close the kitchen one hour earlier. He bluntly told me to either buy what was on display or leave, stating they would not bake any more pretzels.
I gave them another chance and returned on December 29 at 7:00 PM. Again, there was only one pretzel on display, and I requested 5–7 fresh pretzels. This time the cashier/ Hiring manager, “Farah”, refused using the exact same explanation that the mall closes at 9 PM and the kitchen closes an hour before. However, there was still a full hour left before the kitchen was supposedly closed. She was dismissive and said they could not open the kitchen “again,” even though I was simply asking for a normal order during business hours.
Instead of trying to help customers, the staff seems more interested in turning them away. Refusing to bake fresh pretzels while still open and being rude about it is unacceptable, especially when this location never had this issue before. Very disappointing experience, and management seriously needs to address customer service and staff training.

I ordered the cheese dog bite which is $8.5,but they give me just a whole baked dog which is almost $2 cheaper. And the cashier is the most impatient person I had met in my entire life. She even rolled eyes when I said you got the wrong order. What a bad food experience at the Chicago fashion outlet.

Fair warning: Before you try Wetzel’s Pretzels you’d better be emotionally ready to never visit other mall pretzel stalls again. Staff was friendly and fast. Pretzels were game changing.

I’ve been there today on upstairs location. Pretzels were good. No problem with quality and taste. But their employees have no customer service. This had not happened the first time with me. Employee # 256 was attending us. No greetings, nothing. When I ordered pretzels bites with cheese, she is saying they had cold cheese which needs to be warmed and instead told me take jalapeño cheese. I purchased a water that too she did not give me a cold. Employees were joking and talking loudly among each other in front of customers.

1st time trying them and I’m super letdown because I was so excited! And the display pictures made everything look sooooo good !!!! I am giving them 1star because first impression is EVERYTHING and my experience wasn’t the most tasteful. I ordered cheesy bites I believe, and I just received wieners wrapped in dough, no cheese present. the display picture of what I ordered had me expecting something else. Bigger then that, I was halfway to my car on the 2nd floor, about to give my child one when I realized I was given a burnt batch. When I went back I was given a non burned, non fresh batch out of a cup load of them ready to sell. All I’m going to say as a consumer spending my hard earned money, I prefer to wait to get the fresh food experience. Serving me old food just show me you don’t value my business, money, or support. Hope things get better though. Beautiful pics, beautiful concept, in a really beautiful mall. You all should want to further that experience. Happy Holidays.
