This is one of those places that a lot of people from out of town don’t really understand or get. I’m not a native but I did live in Springfield for 15 years so I suppose I can see both sides.
This is one of my favorite places in town to get a ‘shoe. They have changed a bit over the years and the strong charcoal flavor is gone from their hamburger patties now (not a good change, in my opinion) but the fries and cheese sauce have remained the same. Out of towners often seem to turn up their noses or call the dish a “heart attack on a plate” but that’s just because they don’t understand that there are variations that make it a different dish everywhere you order it. Specifically, the cheese sauce is all house-made and most places it is delicious. There is a slight twang to their version that I personally like quite a bit.
If you’re in Springfield and looking for an authentic local experience this is a great place to try. There are better ‘shoes in town but the experience just doesn’t feel as comfortable as a trip to Westwoods.

We came here for the first time with friends for dinner and we had a great time!! We made a reservation ahead of time since it was a Saturday. The food was delicious! We got the big bayou gator bites as an appetizer and split the yetti meal. So much food! For drinks I tried two martinis, the westwoods signature martini and the cherry cheesecake martini! Both amazing! My husband got the bourbon flight which was really nice. Great options to choose from! Our service and the atmosphere here was great! We’ll definitely be back again when we want to have a good time with friends.

Went here for dinner while in Springfield for a work trip. I had the wings and my coworker had the burger. The food was delicious and our server was very nice. Pricing is pretty compatible to other places in the area. Would definitely come back again.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to dine, the atmosphere and decor is second to none. The food phenomenal, the staff amazing and Mick is a totally awesome guy!
You love the outdoors and looking for nostalgic and fabulous food, you need to check out Westwood’s!
Oh and if you like bourbon, you won’t find a larger selection in Springfield!

What a great experience! Great food and atmosphere. Had the breaded chicken sandwich with fries. Delicious. Served nice and hot. We also had a great server. The taxidermy animals are quite a collection. All shapes and sizes. A lot of fun.

The wild beast sausage had such great flavor the casing was just very tough. The wind beast burger was very good just a tad dry. The beer on tap selection was very good. I would give this place 4.5 stars above a 4 but fell just short of a 5 for a couple of reasons. You have ro wow me with your food to get a 5 and don’t let me eat my entire meal with an empty glass.

The place is top notch from the moment you walk up! Open the door and you’re in another element! The taxidermy and details are just amazing! The waitress was so excited and friendly to wait on us, and the menu is nothing short of amazing! The owner was very friendly and he was happy to visit with us, and the food was delicious and super sized portions, for a decent price! We are definitely bringing the kids back when we are in town! They would be amazed!
