We’ve been going to the WU off and on for the better part of 20+ years. We went here last night with our group and ended up closing the bar down. The whole staff was a mazing. Super-friendly and attentive. Jacob even brought our tab, and the money we gave him for it, back to the table because he thought we over-paid. That’s what you call integrity.
The KJ had a great voice and so did Jacob, and I usually hate karaoke. Fun night.
Anyway, thanks for the great time. Merry Christmas!

I’ve been coming to West Union Sports Pub—better known to us regulars as “the WU”—for the better part of 15 years, on and off. It truly feels like Cheers in real life: a place where everyone knows your name and you’re always greeted with familiar, friendly faces, both staff and patrons alike.
Family-owned for over 50 years, this bar is still going strong and has only gotten better with time. The bartenders and staff are some of the best in the business, always making you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. The food and drinks are consistently great, and the newly updated menu is a fantastic bonus.
The WU also throws amazing holiday parties that are always a blast—another reason this place has such a special community vibe.
Simply put, it’s my go-to spot and has been for decades. If you’re looking for a welcoming, long-time local bar with heart, history, and great people, West Union Sports Pub is it.

First time in since the facade construction was completed, but doesn’t seem like any updates were done inside. Seemed clean, but still dated. We did have good service at the bar tonight, and the food arrived quickly, but wasn’t impressed with the quality of my burger for the price. This is the first time I’ve eaten here, so I will be returning to give it another shot and update here accordingly if needed.

Then I was greeted by a very voluptuous woman asking me what I would like to drink at that point I was greeted by a group of regulars that were wonderful and amazing then looked over their Wonderful food selection and couldn’t decide I ordered multiple things and they were all delicious 10 stars if there was an option

I went to this bar for the first and last time the other day to visit my friend while they were working. As I walked in, I was greeted with a customer referring to me as “Jedediah Smith” which made me feel really uncomfortable as I am a black man, seemed to be I was the topic of discussion before even entering the establishment. The whole time I was there I felt like I was being looked at in a way that seemed they had never seen a black person in this place before. I’m not sure who would enjoy this atmosphere in 2025, but if you do, the west union pub is the place for you.

Wings are terrible. Ordered mango habanero wings and got literal cayenne pepper sauce on the side for wings they were beyond crispy. Not good at all. Very disappointed

If you’re looking for a bartender who can turn customers away faster than she pours a drink, this place has the perfect hire.
Went in on 8/9/25. Instant attitude from a big brunette bartender/waitress. Came in with a group of over 12 to get drinks and play pool. She asked for IDs; I handed her mine, but as soon as my friend pulled out her vertical ID, instead of explaining why they don’t accept them, she instantly told her to leave, saying they don’t take vertical IDs.
Confused, I asked why they wouldn’t accept a government-issued ID. Her answer: “Too many fakes in the past.” If that’s such a recurring issue, why not get scanners instead of losing out on so much business? Most 21–23-year-olds still have vertical IDs.
& Honestly, most of our group would have stayed for a drink, but that big lady was rolling her eyes, giving attitude, and acting like she hated life. I’d understand if we came in drunk and rowdy, but we didn’t — she’s just a miserable, rude bartender.
