Really enjoyed our visit to West by God CoalFired Pizza.
Knocking off one star because at least 1/4 to maybe 1/3 of the beer wall was tapped out, and one of the two cocktails we wanted was also unavailable, which was definitely a little disappointing.
That said, the pizza and baked pepperoni rolls were amazing. I haven’t had coal-fired pizza in a long time, and it’s honestly in a different category than your normal pizzeria pizza.
The staff was great and the atmosphere was good. I’m sure it gets loud when it’s busy, but we came about a week before tourist season starts, so it was a nice time to visit.
Didn’t do any axe throwing this time, but the targets looked good and not too beat up.
Also, they have Xul PB&J Mixtape on tap, which is a big bonus.
They also appear to have some roaring drink specials.
We’ll definitely come back and check on the beer wall situation again soon.

We enjoyed this place so much. I started off with the Wondermelon drink, absolutely delicious. For appetizer we had the pepperoni rolls and sauce, they were very good and had a nice crunch on the bottom. For the pie, we went for The Boggy Bomb. This pizza did not let us down, it was amazing. There was also a performer there from Knoxville playing and singing some great throwback music We honestly could’ve stayed there for hours, the atmosphere is so great. Everyone needs to visit this place, it’s great for all ages.

We decided to try West By God Pizzeria because we’re from WV and couldn’t resist a place that plays off our home state — especially when we saw they had homemade pepperoni rolls on the menu. That alone made it a must-try for us!
The vibe was great — relaxed and welcoming — and the servers were very attentive and personable. You can tell they care about the experience.
Now, full disclosure… we consider ourselves pepperoni roll snobs since we’ve had the best of the best. We ordered the pepperoni rolls, a meatball pizza, and an 8-piece boneless wings.
The pepperoni rolls were good in flavor, but a little dense for our taste. We’re used to a roll that’s a bit more “risen” and fluffy. Still tasty — just a texture preference on our end.
The meatball pizza had a crust that was VERY good — cooked to perfection with a great bite. I wasn’t crazy about the ricotta (just personal preference), so next time I’d leave that off and probably add extra meatballs instead. Speaking of meatballs… not sure if they’re homemade, but they were very flavorful!
Now let’s talk wings! We ordered boneless — my husband got half buffalo, and I tried the hot honey buffalo. They were AMAZING. It was my first time trying anything hot honey, and I’m officially a fan.
Overall, a fun spot with great service and some standout menu items. We’ll definitely be back — especially for those wings!

No photos of the pizza or the pizza rolls but dang, they were amazing. After hearing about the coal fired pizza from the locals, I just knew this needed to be checked out. We ordered the Boggy Bomb which has pepperoni and sausage with bacon jam. Had the bacon jam on the side as I want so sure if I’d like it. I’ll just say it was amazing. Lots of bacon flavor with a hint of heat. Definitely have it on the next time. The pizza rolls were extremely tasty and the marinara dipping sauce was some of the tastiest I’ve had since moving from NH. And the beer wall was really cool. I’ll definitely be back.

Awesome experience for our family! Pepperoni rolls did not disappoint. We enjoyed trying to throw axes, the beer wall and atmosphere was something different and memorable.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was also a plus to go during weekday which saved us $5/person throwing axes and in addition they allowed us to use a coupon on food. We plan to come back and try the pizza in these future. Enjoy!

West By God Pizza absolutely deserves 5 stars! The pizza and hot wings combo in the photo says it all – perfectly cooked to order, with a crispy, flavorful crust, plenty of toppings, and wings that came out hot, juicy, and full of flavor. The staff were friendly from the moment I walked in, checked on me several times, and made sure everything was just the way I wanted it. If you’re looking for great pizza, awesome wings, and welcoming service, West By God Pizza is a must-visit.

I ordered a fried pickles and banana peppers appetizer, New Havens Original Apizza, and The Pizza Party. The appetizer was amazing. I really enjoyed it. On the original apizza I really couldn’t taste the pecorino cheese. The crust was very good, perfectly crispy. I would say The Pizza Party was good. It comes with extra pepperoni and hot honey drizzle. It was very greasy so if that’s not your thing maybe steer clear of the extra pepperoni. Not giving plates was unusual for me but I guess having the pizza pan it’s not really needed.

Stopped in for the 1st. time tonight. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I seek out pizza places everywhere we travel to , and have had alot of pizza in this area . This is by far the BEST I have had in this area . When in the area I have definitely found my go to pizza place. The coal fired crust was right up my alley , nice char , great chew.

The food was phenomenal, and our server was great! It was super busy and he was the only one there. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and we ended up taking so much food home. Axe throwing was awesome too, laughed a ton and had so much fun. Can’t wait to go back!
