Excellent experience. From the service to the food to the ambiance and music. Very clean and well kept. We had the mofongo with fried pork and it was on point. Also ordered the trifongo with skirt steak and it was juicy and tender! The tostones rellenos were delicious and the passion fruit mimosa was a great combination! Chef Sal exceeded our expectations. Definitely recommend, so happy that there’s finally a true puertorrican restaurant close to home! Very affordable! Stop by as soon as you can and bring your friends!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

UPDATE: Too bad now Wepa St Pete is closed for good.

The flavor and presentation of the food is 5 stars and at very good price. Service is outstanding. Real Latin fusion cuisine. We had a surprisingly good experience at Wepa St Pete.

Food is amazingly delicious. If you want the real taste of Puerto Rican food then you’re in the right place. Inside is pretty cramp though and the service isn’t great. No one seats you, I was given my appetizers and still didn’t have utensils to eat with or napkins and there was a long wait for the food.

It’s a small but comfortable place to eat some good Puerto Rican food, that’s not far from Tropicana Field.
It has a small interior but good outdoor space. The tostones(plantain)cup with seafood is incredible. The Pionono with shredded beef was great.
The Tamarindo Sangria, That is in its class all by it self.

Wepa made me feel like I was back in Puerto Rico. The food, drinks & music really captured the essence of that beautiful island. Although it took a while to be served, it was totally worth the wait! My family and I would love to come here again and try out more delicious plates. We hope to see this restaurant grow in business & continue to show more locals that latino flavor.

This is truly a taste of Puerto Rico something that alot of others fail to capture. This has been one of the best Authenic Puertorican Restaurants that I have visited in a long time. I was so impressed with the service and the delicious cuisine. I went with my family my mother included who is the biggest food critic and not one thing wrong. Hats off to you Wepa! I will definitely recommend to all my friends and family. Hats off to you my Brother!!!!!!

Well, my expectations were so high and they totally didn’t even come close. The place does have a really cool vibe, but the food was far from what I expected, really dry, the chicken was overcooked. Service was ok but glitchly, I don’t like it when a server leaves with my credit card and took 15 minutes to return. I will wait a while and may go back to see if anything improves.

Being born and raised 30 minutes away from Puerto Rico I am a bit picky when it comes to this food type as I have spent 36 years eating it but…wepa service was good..my mofongo was made with green plantain used for tostones versus ripe plantain. The shrimp were prior cooked versus fresh but didn’t taste bad. Bean sauce could have been thicker and with more flacor (green olives and more traditional Puerto Rican seasoning, cilantro etc) but good overall.

Came by on a Sunday for lunch with the family, our second time here since it first opened a few months back; new owners, new chef and some menu changes but food is still great and service is amazing! Will definitely be back and have the boyfriend and come and try it with me.

Very impressed with this authentic Puerto Rican fare. It was delicious, from our appetizer to the great mofongo, this was a pleasant surprise, it’s not a huge place but the staff was very friendly and the chef came out and thanked us for coming, would recommend to anyone looking to try something new, or anyone looking for that Carribean flavor in their life.
